How long is the tech session going on for? I am busy at 11:00 and I don't think I could make it before 13:00. Would that be too late or can I still catch up with the group to join in for a drive?

We'll probably have lunch at one of the restaurants in The Glen, and then head out to Joliet. It's about an hour 10 min drive to Joliet , so we'll probably leave around 12:30-1ish.

Thanks for the info, I'll try to catch up either for lunch or for the drive.

WOW, and you accused me of hijacking a thread in another discussion!

Aren't you being rather hypocritical!

This thread was about a tech session being held by the FOC, not the drive you planned! Is this a matter of the 'Kettle calling the pot black' ?

Let's give it a rest please.

It would actually have been fun to have the Supercar Saturday folks stop over at the tech session. Now they're doing a different route heading for the Autobahn. Nothing wrong with that. I'm sure it'll be a great day for either folks, the driving ones and the wrenching ones.

    Peace.

Use the "contact us" link at the bottom of the page and let the moderator know your feelings about this ongoing problem. Most of us want to enjoy the exotic car experience. Some seem to want to diminish that.

I was just offering more FUN stuff for Fchatters to do. Lay off! No mention of hijacking here buddy, get your threads straight. You're ruining this for everyone here. Many want to go out and drive and do fun things with their cars, not sit on fchat and criticise all day long. Get a life.

Whats with all this squabbling going on here!!!!

    I have a better idea.

Since it is going to rain on Saturday, why not stop by the West Meadows Ice Arena in Rolling Meadows and watch my kid and her skate team perform.
The Chicago Jazz go on at 1 pm

    See you there :)

Sounds like fun! However, the weather looks like a nice day on Saturday now.

It would be great to do both the tech. session and Autobahn. I really like the tech session for knowledge as I like doing my own mechanical things. I have only two cars out of four without issues right now and one is the 328. So I get lots of practice working on different parts and makes of cars. Perhaps if the driving part goes longer in the afternoon, I can catch up. Anyone know how long the Autobahn will be going on?

Sheesh, looks like just another tech session me. Whether it's at LFSC, FVMC, CAS or even a parking lot in nowhere, it's just another tech session.

Drive to the 'tech session', park your car and let people tech over it, then drive home.......WOW, what an exciting day!!

P.S. Just my opinion, I don't need any death threats.

    see the differance now?

Obviously you haven't attended the ones the FOC puts on in Chicago. You can learn about your car and even get involved with the "action". If you are not wanting to work on your car, then yes, probably a waste of your time. Sometimes it is kind of good to understand the mechanical side of things so when a mechanic says the job costs $2000, you have an appreciation of what it takes and why the cost is what it is. If all you do is just stand there, then don't expect much in return.

PS. Nobody is waiting to look over your car. That is your job.

SCS thread?? I am confused (happens at my age)

Where is Skip when we need him? Can you enlighten me?

Wait I get it. SCS = Supercar Saturday

Anyway, I still don't think you need to "dump on an FOC event". It may not be your cup of tea but it is for others. Also, looks like if there is interest, one can make all three events (SCS, Tech. Sec. and Autobahn). Just trim off a little time on each.

Last edit (like the fifth time on this one post, don't want to be a post whore :D)

Now I really get it. Boy am I slow.

One topic Dave and I discussed and are throwing into the mix, will be the installation of still and "movie" cameras for track days. We will both bring our latest setups so we can all discuss what will be the best strategy for Road America. Or for the Autobahn club for those who go there for the www.onelapofamerica.com event after the tech session.

The more yall talk about the tech day, the less it sounds like something I'll be able to "bring something to the table". I am good with working on cars, but I don't know anyone here, and not sure if you'd trust me to work on your Ferrari. I don't own a Ferrari, just a simple Saturn

Have no fear, just remember righty-tighty, lefty-.........ah........I forget. No problem, that is why we have a good group of people that like to work on cars. Just come have fun with us.

    Huh?

You are out of the loop......why don't you join us on Saturday. You'll get free food, meet a great bunch of people and find a great shop at reasonable prices to service your whatever. And I mean whatever; Lambo, Ferrari, Lotus, Rolls, Bentley, Chevy, Ford, BMW, Toyota.....WHATEVER. Even if you have Zambonis, street sweepers or a Sherman Tank, Ed can fix it. :)

As an aside, how many tech sessions do you think are held; not many. Where as car shows are going on everyday of the week in the summer.

Your correlation between a car show and a tech session doesn't quite cut it.

P.S. Johnny, you knew I'd be here for ya. See you Saturday, and I do hope SKNKWRX will join us too(seriously).

You don't need to bring anything "to the table", we'll bring the table to you. Just let us know if you'll attend as we need a count for food and drink!
