Was in New York on business today, saw one of these in a window, and had to have it. It's absurdly big - dwarfs my Bell&Ross 92-01 and my Panerai. "Sector" is the brand. The text on the bottom is a guide to morse code, and the button on the lower left illuminates a flashlight on the lower right. Very "Dick Tracy". It came in a huge box with all sorts of goodies like a Leatherman-style knife and various sharp watch-related tools. Realizing there was no way I could get this on a flight, my next stop was the local FedEx to ship all the sharp bits home!

Congratulations! My first "real" watch was a TAG Heuer too (Blue case/face, black strap Formula 1 -- still have it!). That was 23 years ago and I am hopelessly addicted to watches. You might be too if you're not careful. ;)

Thanks, I think I already am, I am drooling over Carreras but thats a bit much for me now, I can get by with saying this one is an early graduation present to myself. :)

Gotta love the '80s! I really wanted a red one like the Marlboro McLaren F1 Team's standard issue, or a red and green one like the Team 7-11 pro cycling team wore, but went conservative in the end with that blue F1.

Hey maybe we should start a "show us the first 'real' watch you've ever owned" thread? :)

    Whoops, just saw this.

Yes, I changed it to something similar to your Bathys black/white stitch band.. the silicone thing it ships with was awful.

And since I'm in a picture mood..
