    Hi!

So I am making something and I need a Cavallino emblem. I have seen a couple sites on here come recommended...black-barts.com (although I don't like that I can't see photos of what I need even though it has the part number) as well as international-auto.com. I am assuming both of these sites are reputable and sell AUTHENTIC cavallino emblems? I think I need a 93612 (on this site http://www.international-auto.com/ferrari-badges-and-lettering/prancing-horse.cfm). I'd go for the bigger 4.5 inch guy but I don't want it to overpower what I'm using it for. Is this 93612 emblem the same one labled FD/11 on black-barts.com? I need a chrome one. Are the cavallino emblems you find on the internet generally authentic Ferrari items or are a lot of them just repros? Hope you guys can steer me in the right direction if I am looking in the wrong places. How come some of the ones on ebay are much more expensive than buying from these sites? In the fashion world fakes are rampant, and I can see why they might have that problem in the car world too, so I'm just looking for the real deal. Help a girl out guys :)

    Thanks!

I deal with Black Bart's on NART badges........he delivers....

Not too much worry about "fakes" although there are plenty...Ferrari makes the cars, the emblems are outsourced to various vendors, over the years.....

Good luck and thanks for stopping by!

If I may be so bold and and perhaps slightly ungentlemanly, and ask the lady a question .........

What do you need this for? What are you making?

    PMed you mwr4440 :)

And thanks everyone for your suggestions. I might just go through black-barts.com. I spoke with someone who told me I can just call a Ferrari parts department, and I asked him if he meant a dealer. Otherwise I would think a shop? I'm just trying to find one that a Ferrari owner wouldn't have a problem putting on their car for replacement/repair...whatever it may be. Cuz I know I'd be picky about that and make sure no "fake" ends up on my authentic car.

So, if there's someone you guys can point me to directly, please let me know. Otherwise I'll go through black-barts.

    Thanks :)

Mine has a stone chip on the yellow area so I bought an unused replacement off of ebay, paid less than $100.

F-Chatter Scaledetails sells them on occasion, you might try contacting him.

BTW, there were slight variations over the years but if you're "making something" then it probably doesn't matter.

^^^ the chrome cavallinos? i think you're talking about the enamel shield there. i'm looking for the chrome horse rather than the shield. i'd like to try to find a cavallino as close as possible to the ones that you see on a recently modeled Ferrari. i figured there were slight variations on it over the years and noticed that in close up photos of the chrome horses on older and newer models. i'm looking for the "newer" look but not sure if i trust ebay. may just go through black-barts. it's not like the cavallino design/variation needs to match a model/year, but i still want the latest rendition if ya know what i mean :)

so, i think i have finally found someone to take care of the first part of my project for me (hopefully!) but i have a question about the emblems. do they all typically have bolts on the back of them? i'm going to need to be drilling holes into some delicate materials and need to research this a little more. i don't want the flat emblem, probably the fd/12 or fd/11. they have bolts, right?

A proper emblem will have threaded studs on the back, and is actually "hollow". That is, the emblem is pressed aluminum and those little threaded studs are tacked in place. They all have the threads in different locations, and the threaded rods are all different lengths depending on the part number/application purchased.

You could always remove the studs (grinder) and use 3M Emblem adhesive sheets..pretty common on "slick back" modern logos..

okay well most likely the emblem will be coming from black-barts.com, either the fd/12 or fd/11...what do i need to do with this particular part (from this company) in order to mount it on something?

    thanks in advance :)

When you get the emblem take it and the rest of your project to a woodworking shop/cabinent maker. They should be able to do the rest to help you out.

    Good Luck.

If it has studs, use speednuts on them, otherwise I gave you the product to use to "peel and stick" it!
