The lower nose / grill / valence on my 74 365 has been changed out at some time in the car's life to a 400 style. I would really like to get it back to the 365 look. I am assuming it was badly curbed at some point and the only replacements available were the 400 front section. So does anyone know of a 365 that is being taken for parts from which I could get the grill and valence pieces?

No, but a 400/400i series I grille is the same as the 365 GT/4 as far as I know. For the 400i series II and 412, the driving lamps were exposed, which I presume is what you have?

Hmmm, maybe it was dropped for the 400 series...

PS I think the horsey looks cool. In fact, I think blkprlz has added one to his car.

Aiden, I'm not sure if it was stock or not; either way, I'm not alone and I too think it's cool. It's staying on mine.

I think that the main difference in the front ends of the 365 vs. the 400 is that the 400 had the spoiler below the grill. Granted, it's not much of a spoiler but it is more pronounced than the lower valence and air intakes on the 365. The flasher lights are behind the grill on both series but I don't know if the size of the grill is different between the two.

Here's a picture of a 365GT4 and a 400GT both copyright from the David Owen Osprey book "Ferrari 4 Seaters". The 365GT4 is on the top and the 400GTA is on the bottom.

The first thing that pops into my head seeing the lower air dam is what ferrari did when going from the 365BB to the 512BB. The 365 had no lower chin spoiler and the 512 did. Lessons learned from too much lift at speed. Interesting to see a parallel like that, dont mean to hyjack the thread.

Yea, it was a Christmas present from Santa ; ) Actually it was at a Ferrari of Central Florida holiday party. Later I had some Christmas lights strung throughout the grill.

Yea looking at the photos, my 365 definitely has the 400 lower valence section. If anyone knows of a lower 365 grill and lower valence section, please let me know. I would like to get it back to the correct look.

I have my valance off right now. rebuilding as it was curbed. Let me talk to my old glass man and see if he would be interested. Maybe we can make a mold. It would have to be a long term project. PM me
