Haven't been on here in a while! I spotted this gorgeous 246 Dino GTS at Lake Oconee yesterday evening. My first time seeing one in person, what a great looking car! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Say what you will about the Viper's styling, but it is an exotic car. Current versions have 500 horsepower, and all told I've seen as many Ferrari F430s as Dodge Vipers - perhaps not impressive until you consider that the Viper had a 13-year head start on the Ferrari. We don't photograph standard Corvettes in this thread, but we tend to photograph Vipers, and we recognize the difference. As for sightings, several good ones tonight: - white Aston-Martin V8 Vantage Roadster on Lenox and Piedmont. Note the driver waving. - red Ferrari 360 Spider on South Carolina plates at Hal's. - yellow Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster on Florida plates at Atlanta Fish Market. Here's another angle of that gorgeous car. Note that this is a different yellow Diablo VT Roadster than the one I saw just the other day on Peachtree; that one was on local dealer plates. Several spots tonight including quite a few Ferraris: - dark blue Aston-Martin DB9 on Piedmont near Lenox Road. - red Ferrari 360 Spider at St. Regis valet. - red Ferrari 360 Spider on South Carolina plates at Chops valet. - black Ferrari F430 coming out of Houston's. - gray Ferrari F430 in a parking lot off Roswell Road. Here's a shot in motion on Roswell Road. - red Ferrari F430 on South Carolina dealer plates at BluePointe valet. - silver Maybach 57 (Steve Harvey's) on Texas plates at Phipps Plaza valet. The real highlight, though, was my car hitting 100,000 miles! It's gone a trouble-free 55,000 miles in less than two years! Congrats on 100,000, my old one was dying when I got rid of it at 96,000. My spots from today... -Steve Harvey's Maybach 57 at Phipps -Viper SRT/10 at Lenox on plate "KZIMFLY" -two red 360 Spyders, a Phantom on Cali plates and an all blue R8 all at St. Regis/Chops -yellow 430 Spyder and red 430 on South Carolina dealer plates at Blue Pointe...the driver set off the car alarm as he was trying to leave and could not figure out how to turn it off, it was pretty funny -silver 430 at a small restaurant in the Publix shopping center on Roswell Rd, I really like how the 430 looks in this color -red Viper RT/10 and black SRT/10 at Fellini's Pizza on Roswell Rd Turned out to be a pretty good night! I thought today was going pretty good today when saw a panoz esperante driving southbound on 75. Then about 5 minutes later northbound starts to slow down and this passes buy. It was probably the coolest thing i ever seen driving down the road. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Some guy stole the rig and the owner (some how) was on the back of the truck, sitting on the chassis just before the hitch, and was trapped there while the thief was driving his rig on the freeway! Here is the story on WSB: http://www.wsbtv.com/news/19320140/detail.html#-
ugh.... Back to some of the pictures above... The Diablo might be my favorite car ever... So awesome looking.
More awesomeness tonight... -430 on Peachtree in front of Phipps -Vantage in traffic on Peachtree -Gallardo Spyder in valet at Tower Place -430 Spyder and Vantage parked together at Phipps -two white Arnages, one at the W and the other at St. Regis -DBS at Terminus -red 550 on Lenox Rd getting onto 400, later seen parked at Buckhead Pizza -last but not least, a red 355 spyder getting off of 400 at Lenox Rd...very hard to tell at night but it looks like a familiar car (CavalloRosso, was that you?) Another incredible day and evening in Buckhead. My sightings: - white Aston-Martin DB9 in a parking lot off Peachtree between Piedmont and West Paces. Plate was formerly on a V8 Vantage, also white, which coincidentally I last spotted a year ago today. - unbelievably rare black Aston-Martin DBS at Terminus. - black Aston-Martin V8 Vantage on Roswell Road near West Paces. - black Aston-Martin V8 Vantage at Terminus. - gray Aston-Martin V8 Vantage on Georgia's Auburn University plate at Fado. It then moved to Phipps Plaza, where it was parked next to a Ferrari F430 Spider. - tan Bentley Arnage on local plate QUAN at the W in Buckhead. - white Bentley Arnage on Roswell Road at West Paces. - blue Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport on North Carolina plates on Peachtree at Piedmont. - red Ferrari 360 Spider on South Carolina plates at Blackland and Roswell Road. - red Ferrari 550 Maranello on dealer plates in valet at the pizza place on Peachtree near Terminus (Buckhead Pizza?). - red Ferrari F430 at Piedmont and Peachtree. Here's another angle. - gray Ferrari F430 Spider at Phipps Plaza valet. - yellow Ferrari F430 Spider on Florida plates on Piedmont at East Paces Ferry. - white Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder on West Paces at Peachtree. - silver Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder in valet at Tower Place. - the famous blue Lamborghini Murcielago on the move down Peachtree. Here's another shot. Perhaps the most interesting spot tonight was a valid license plate from Dubai, United Arab Emirates on a white Toyota Land Cruiser in Inman Park. It bore no other license plate and had the same plate on the front. Here's a closer shot. No idea if this was real or what purpose it would have here, but I thought it was neat! A few for me today.. -Vantage and 512 TR both in general parking and a 430 in valet at Phipps -Z8 at Terminus -430 Spyder at St. Regis It was a great month for spotting, and after adding up all my pictures, I had 109 total spots this month. I don't keep exact numbers but I'm sure this is way more than I've had in past months. It's also exciting because I know that it's only going to get better during the summer months. I began the evening with the goal of seeing eight more exotic cars for the month. Doing so would get me to 168 sightings, or exactly double of my previous best month, April 2008. I had some commitments elsewhere for around 9:30pm, so I set off for Buckhead around 7pm with high hopes. Leaving the area at around 9:45pm, I had seen six cars, with many thanks to ZonderF: - gray Aston-Martin V8 Vantage in general parking at Phipps Plaza. - black BMW Z8 at Terminus. - silver Dodge Viper SRT-10 on vanity plate ONESTOP at Phipps Plaza valet. - black Ferrari 512TR on Florida plates in general parking at Phipps Plaza. - black Ferrari F430 in valet at Phipps Plaza. - dark gray Ferrari F430 Spider on New Jersey plates in valet at the St. Regis. Needless to say, being two cars short I was somewhat disappointed. At 10:45pm, my commitments ended, I headed back to Buckhead for a desperate attempt at finding the last two cars. After a short search I gave up and headed home down Piedmont, where I ran into a black Bentley Continental Flying Spur Speed on temporary plates. Since the "Speed" Bentleys count, I now only had one more car to see. A quick trip to Atlantic Station yielded nothing even close to exotic, so I headed to midtown/downtown in search of a club or bar still open with something worth photographing out front. Sure enough, after about twenty minutes of searching, I encountered a black Lamborghini Gallardo on Illinois plates at a hotel somewhere in midtown. By then I was exhausted - far too take note of the hotel that pushed me over the top - but ecstatic that I had completed the impossible. Rain came just minutes after taking the final picture. April has been a truly amazing month, with not only 168 sightings but 23 days in a row seeing exotic cars (each day since April 8, my longest-ever streak) and several amazing cars, including a new Corvette ZR1, an Aston-Martin DBS, and a Tesla Roadster. I averaged 5.6 car sightings per day. But with finals just around the corner, it's time to devote a little less time to cars and a little more time to studying! Fortunately the weather report is showing I won't miss much, with rain forecasted for the next several days. Statistics to follow shortly. Who drives the Blue Murcielago with the white wheels? I live right by phipps and see that thing ALLLL the time.
Wednesday evening at 6pm, there was a yellow 430 coupe at a Goodyear tire on Pleasant Hill Rd Anybody know who?
My Thursday spots are a white Lamborghini Gallardo on the road entering the Mansion. Second was a black Ferrari F430 at Phipps valet. Third was a dark grey Ferrari F430 spider at St. Regis. Fourth was a yellow Ferrari F430 spider with Florida tags and a Ferrari of Atlanta license plate holder. This car had chrome wheels but the the option that caught my eye in the dark was the rear challenge grille. I really like this look on this color. This car was at the restaurant 'Canoe' near the Vinings. Fifth and finally I did spot the Ferrari 512 TR , he was near a condo complex on a one way street near Pharr Rd. I will pass on showing this photo in case this is his residence. 1st I observed a white Lamborghini Gallardo roadster with side badging in the Vinings but missed out on the photo until later when I found it again parked at a new restaurant in the Vinings. 2nd spot was a black Ferrari 599 GTB parked at the valet in the rear of Chops. 3rd was a white Audi R8 at Kyma. 4th was a red Ferrari F430 at Phipps valet. 5th was a second red Ferrari F430 coupe at the restaurant 'Aja'. 6th was a second white Lamborghini Gallardo roadster just prior to entering the Terminus complex. 7th was a gray Ferrari F430 spider at Saint Regis. This gentleman let down the convertible top and drove off and within minutes a huge down pour started. I hope he had time to react to the change of weather.
