Rebuilt title or high mileage... which one is worth more?

Do you know the type/extent of damage that was done to the rebuilt one?

 

High mileage is perfect - you can drive lots and not change value as much.

Both will be a tough sell, but high mileage will be easier than one with a rebuilt title.

If you plan to keep it go rebuilt. But you really need to know what the original damage was and how it was repaired. Frame damage is a no no

I love high mileage (well maintained) cars that are priced right.

I will only buy a rebuilt title car if I saw the "damage" in person before the repair, and I know who did the repair work.

 

I think there's some wisdom in both of these statements...rebuilt rightly carries a much larger "fear of the unknown"...at least among knowlegeable buyers.

A well documented, high mileage car is perfect in my book. All the kinks have been driven out of it and you know you aren't going to get a garage queen that might not like to be taken out of the garage.

With a high mileage car with receipts you know exactly what to expect down the road.

 

I vote for high mileage also, well cared for high mileage that is....

 

This is interesting... most hi mile cars that are on the market are treat like they have a plague because everyone avoids them.
In the Ferrari world hi miles is 30k plus.
I dont understand this especailly when most guys use synthetic oil. So 30k in reality is barely broken in.

Neither of the above. The market is very low right now, so if you have the cash I would take advantage of that and get into a lower mileage car with no issues.

If it really is a choice between these two, and only these two, then I agree with the high mileage voting bloc here.

 

High mileage!! ................. never trust an f-car with low miles ........ its actual care and history are suspect ......... as anyone who does not drive their f-car(s) has potentialy very serious mental problems .....................

High miles is the only way to go for me. I won't buy a garage queen, not worth buying a car that was sitting in a garage for God knows how long.

Ferraris are often fixed cheap, they fetch a high demand when wrecked because it is still very profitable for the car to be a parts car. I will not touch a rebuilt one unless I know the FULL 100% history.

 

High mileage is better than low: It has probably been sorted and driven so much is in order.

The only reason to buy the rebuild, IMO, is for low, entry into a Ferrari, with no reason to get much out of the future resale, IF that is what one wants.

or more importantly

using it as a track car: that price would be nice for tracking IF the rebuild was done correctly, if not, it needs to come way down even for track.
