"It's a bit more than a year ago that I won my last Formula 1 race," said Raikkonen. "At Barcelona in 2008 I had my best weekend with Ferrari: pole position, victory and fastest race lap.

"Since then I came very close several times - I'm thinking of Magny-Cours, Montreal and Spa – but for one reason or the other I could never make it. Having said that, a driver never loses the lust for winning and I want to have that feeling again as soon as possible."

Wow, I didn't even notice that it's been over a year since he has won a race.

Did you watch Bahrain? Where he was fighting and being rewarded with points while his team mate ended up one lap down.

Yes, after being sandwiched in the first lap. I just say this because this kind of posts can degenerate into another Massa thread.

BTW, you´re supposed to be a moderator...

Nice to see this actually. He had plenty of chances last year, but he did well in Bahrain. He needs to keep doing well.

Im off the 'iceman' kool-aid until better results are provided. Last year he was beaten in equal machinery by Massa and soundly.

Massa did more testing etc and it showed last year.

This year will be Massa's year to show his performance last year wasnt a fluke, and its Kimi's year to show he still wants to win and can be the 'iceman' again.

Too bad the car really isnt the best tool for either one of them so far. Hopefully the improvements will result in better results for both our drivers in red :)

Andreas has been stuck in 2007 (or earlier) with his continuous negative remarks about Massa and it's bordering on the trolling side. IMO a moderator should take a moderate stand. I've tried to put him on my ignore list but this is not possible with a moderator. :(

I definitely see Raikkonen ending his drought sooner than Massa. Kimi just seems to be getting the car to work a little better than Felipe currently.

Pete, Could it be he just wants, what is in his opinion I hasten to add, the best drivers in a Ferrari. I like the fact Andreas speaks his mind to be honest, although I'am sure he does hold back as well.

I'am no big Massa fan, but I have to say that's partly because the level of hate thrown at Lewis H, comes seemingly from big Massa fans.

i never really thought kimi had lost motivation, i just think the car is not to his liking. i think a lot of people mistake his calm demeanor as a sign of a lack of interest, and that's just not the case. once the car is competitive again it think he'll start to dominate.

IMO...Massa has had one freakish lucky season last year where he did pretty well. However, his career contradicts last season. I think that's what Massa has to do to end the skepticism...prove himself. Until then, the "Massa bashing" or "massa skepticism" will continue. Hopefully he can turn that skepticism around...so far he hasn't been doing very well in that department. Kimi, on the other hand, is a proven WDC caliber driver. His career has already shown that. Like Massa, last year was also a freakish season for Kimi...just in the other direction compared to Massa. Kimi has already shown he is in a different league of drivers than Massa. Looking on the surface and using a single freakish season like last one is not an accurate gauge to determine the distinction between the two. I believe both Massa and Kimi are very motivated drivers...you don't get to where they're at by being unmotivated. I pray that the team get's their act together in Spain. Ferrari have exhausted their supply of excuses.

+1, great post. I'm looking forward to seeing Kimi lead this team to some great things again. Last year was awful but this year he has impressed me with his driving in a very sub-par car. Massa on the other hand has not shown anything this year.

    Let me get this straight.
The Ferrari team leader and ex-F1 champ has to make an official statement to the press announcing that he wants to win?

A moderator is allowed to have his own opinion and express it.

Regarding the sandwich: He drove right into that squeeze as also expressed by the Speed commentators.

BTW: I'm already holding back big time how I really feel about the 2nd Ferrari driver. :)

Yes, but that final part of the sentence was a bit out of place. We were talking about Raikkonen, not about "the other driver". It could be seen as... somewhat "trollish", as someone said above. And that´s how the war begins again. You know: si vis pacem, para pacem.

Of course, you can do as you want. After all, you´re the moderator.

I love the Latin quote. Thanks.

Not really, in essence I have to play by the same guidelines as you guys. I'm not the only mod on here. But I am entitled to my opinion. ;)

Are you kidding? Andreas, you're the most biased, hateful Massa basher on this entire Forum!

No wait, the biggest basher would be ME! even though i usually hold back..big time. But that's only because Massa stinks, and it'd be like kicking a puppy! Had ya going there didn't I? :) Man, don't ya just love F-chat?
