I wanted to dissamble and lube the top frame joints on my 83 Mondial Cab. I could only get one of the screws loose. Is there a special tool (I hope) that can be clamped on, so the screwdriver bits don't come out of the kerfs?

My screws on the roof frame feel like they are welded on! No obvious way to loosen, but no obvious reason why they won"t. I hacked up one screw with a vice grip and gave up. There must be some secret, someone had to put it together...

Do you really need to dissemble the frame joints to lube them?

I think it's the best way (if possible). By disassembling them, you can put a thin film of grease on all of the surfaces. Lubing from the outside would require a thinner lube, and more of it, to soak into the joints. I'm concerned with dripping and staining to the inside of the top.
