Yes, that is correct Joe, you are well informed!

The first time I saw this car here in Holland was in february 1985,
at the Dutch Ferrari importer Kroymans.
I was lucky, because the car was just taken out the workshop for a little demo drive with a customer.

Just a few days later, this car was the star of the RAI motorshow in Amsterdam.

Note the white painted Goodyear letters on the tires.

Here's a picture I took of the car after the demo drive in front of the old Kroymans building.
Nostalgic, because unfortunatly, the Kroymans company just went bankrupt a few weeks ago

The car changed hands recently, after being in a private collection for many years.

    Ciao!
    Marcel

Hi Marcel, good to see you back here in Ferrarichat, which I have become addicted to.

    Nice pictures, brings back memories.

Do you know how many GTOs are currently in Dutch hands?
And how many will join the anniversary meeting(s).

Of all 288 GTOs produced, how many were issued blk/with red insert interiors? There appears to be an example here in Michigan.

Thanks for sharing Marcel! Shame about Kroymans, end of an era. My car was delivered to Garage Francorchamps, also no more.

    About 30%.

Strictly speaking, its orange, and unfortunately the original material used fades. Badly.

On the same subject, the car coming up for auction at the RM Maranello sale, has had its interior modified. The orange (red) seat inserts have been replaced with all-black (VM8500), and the tell-tale sign is the dashboard which retains the orange (red) inserts.

I am aware of 3 GTO thats have changed the seat inserts in favor of all-black, and Im sure there are more.

Just FYI and to clarify, Valerie's function is to register GTO owners attending Concorso (it is free for them) and register them for the hospitality there on Friday.

A friend of mine took this pic in France, at "Mont Gerbier des Joncs".
I don't know if this GTO is already known. It is the first time for me to see her. (Sorry, I don't know its s/n).

A slight aside - I know everyone claims that the US F40 lip is "more aggressive" but frankly I think the Euro F40 bumpers are SO much better. So clean and pretty.

    Thanks for posting...

This is 55679, which is imaged elsewhere on this thread with French registration 299 PR 94. Later it is imaged at the 60th Anniversary (below) still French registered, this time 882 PF 75, with a white "Dont Test Your Airbags Here" sticker above the license plate. The license plate groove which is normally satin black has been painted over - always a telltale repaint sign with GTOs, and that observation, plus the white sticker, is suggestive.

Obviously it is now Monaco-registered B 601, white warning sticker still in place.

I just checked my Registro and I must correct myself! "288 PR 94" is correct, not 299... and 884 PFE 75!

I think "clean" yes, "pretty" no.

Whereas the rest-of-the-world F40 is definitely cleaner, or even purer, than the USA version, the word "pretty" does not really describe any aspect of the F40 IMHO. What I mean is, the F40 can be described with many attributes: raw, stunning, aggressive, etc among them. But pretty is a description that can only be used for but one single Ferrari Supercar: the subject of this thread!

A very good correction, thank you. I suppose "pretty" shold have been a relative term if anything in this context. But you're spot on.

Even if the car is now registered in Monaco, it's owned by the same person. He has changed the plate of many of his cars last year.

While i am here, have you read my e-mail Joe ?
