I believe there is a CCX available right now at Universal Autosports in New York. They are the only US dealer for Koenigsegg.

I don't give two schitz about ring times. I also don't give two schitz about drag races (like the one that started this thread). Street cars with 400++++++ HP are well past the ability of normal people to drive them at 10/10ths. Anything after that is pointless magazine racing.

And therein lies the absurdity.

Comparing the two is very unfair given the power advantage to the 'egg.
I knew it was fast, but that was seriously quick!

 

That's not my point. Any modern sports car can turn very awesome ring times. The 430S, the Enzo, the Koenigsegg, the 560/4. The Nissan GTR.

Sabine Schmitz in a panel van would kill 99.99% of us around the ring. Give me a 599 and her in a van? She'd crush me. She'd crush most people that visit this site. Ring times and magazine racing are artifacts of an era that died long ago.

 

My point was with 300 less bhp the Enzo was quicker...meaing power is not the be all and end all...the egg was quicker on the straights but couldnt carry speed..suspect in the real world with real drivers on real roads the Scud will be quicker most of the time in what would be an unfair comparison.

 

In the real world the normal guy with the 997 Turbo with PDK automatic transmission, 4WD, tons of electronic aids and 500 hp easy controllable hp would be faster than someone normal with a Scuderia (on the streets, of course)...
And didn't the Enzo suspension give up in the test you are referring to? (evo)


As for the drag race:
This is a showcase of "difference between a fast car and a fast car". Nothing more, nothing less. The same guys do 599 vs CGT runs and Gallardo vs GT2 runs etc. all the time, which are more fair in terms of power. This drag race was just for the fun of it...

A bit of pointless excercise, IMHO.
Might as well put an Audi R8 4.2 against a Scuderia and marvel "how the latter smoked the other one"
Matching two cars that are from so much different brackets may be good only as an entertainment,nothing more...

Koenigsegg is an ugly overpowered car. The Scuderia, on the other hand, is a gorgeous all around car; you can drive it in the city on the highway and on a track all day long.
