What are your thought on TR with salvage title? Assuming all else being equal, how much should it be discounted? Thanks.

    100% ?

It is a buyer's market these days. Find a GREAT example TR and go with it. The TR isn't a Ferrari that you want to have problems with... it'll get expensive really fast. I'm sure I'll be bombed for saying this, but "there are no cheap Ferraris". In the end, they all cost the same -- you either pay a cheap price to buy one, and an outrageous price to put it back together. Or, you buy a nice market-priced one, and spend a 'normal' amount enjoying it.

There hasn't been a better time to buy a great car at a fair price.

I should have added that the car has already been supposedly put back together properly. Thanks again.

    That's encouraging.

I would take my checkbook elsewhere, unless you can get it for parts car value. ;)

Depends also on what you plan to do with it ---- cars with prior "salvage" title history are damn difficult to re-sell. So, unless you intend to keep it forever, that should be a factor in your decision process.

I purchased a Testarossa with a washed title (was not aware at the time) with some body damage. I paid a crazy low price for her and not much to repair which I did myself. I was bummed with the washed title. I have a clean "A" title but the car fax says otherwise.. Who knows maybe they are wrong.. I would prefer to buy the car in need of repair vs. already repaired. Chances are when the car was fixed they had every intention of selling it therefore may have put crap parts or cut corners on structural or other sheetmetal, aluminum, or fiberglass repairs. I plan on keeping mine and driver her as much as possible. If I did one day decide to sell her it would not take much for me to make a profit. I got that good of a deal - I was at the right place at the right time... If I sold her for parts I would still profit... There seems to be a very relaxing feeling that when I drive my car that I am not worried about every little sh*t happening. My mind set would be different if I paid top dollar w/ full service history. Almost as if I was neglecting the car when all I want to do is drive. In a nut shell it depends on the price, what kind of work was done to her, that it was done right, and service history checks out. When was the full 30K done, clutch, fuse panel etc.. You may want to take a professional with you prior to purchase.. Good luck..
