Check out these: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=138071892&postcount=953 Here is who makes them: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/member.php?u=24612 More shots, including Ferrari: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/album.php?albumid=213 I don't know these guys personally, but since I'm from the Canadian Prairies (Alberta with family roots in Saskatchewan) I watch this section. They seem to be pretty cool guys and Glen seems to do nice work. Chris
Chris: I recommend Glen's work. He did a Scuderia shield for my garage floor and it came out awesome. I put 5 coats of clear polyutherine on it to keep it sealed (Used it in a spray can form - From Home Depot). Then I can clean/ mop/ wax my garage floor as usual. I ocassionally park tires on the spot and everything stays good. There are some pics on my garage in the Showroom/ Garage pics section. Good luck. If you contact Glen - please tell him Mike w. 76 308 from NJ recommended ya. Mike.
I actually just saw - when you go the 3rd link in your post - you can see the decal with my Marone 308 by it. So that's how it looks.
Yeah, I can do these. No problem. I've done a few. I even made an 8" high x 20' long mural of the Lamborghini Reventon for my garage but since I just sold my house I'll have to build another garage before I can put that up and take photos of it. The suspense is killing me. Just PM me if you want any logos. And tell me if they are for a garage floor or a wall because the floor decals need very specific materials in order to last. Prices are reasonable for Fchat members.
My website (www.lamborghiniregistry.com) is unrelated and I don't advertise these types of decals. I only do them for friends and friends of friends so as not to attract any unwanted attention.
I am surpriesed the clear coats hold up - poly can tend to crack and yellow over time - how long have you had this done - also, do you actually run tires over the decal? Another method would be to use clear coat epoxy - I have used that in my garage that I finished last fall and it seems to be holding up great - I am not critizing your idea, just wondering how it has held up John E
I put a 2 part poly on my tiles over a year ago and its still holding up,its also used on bridges and retaining walls against graffity
I believe the poly stays flexible to some degree so it won't crack. Typically a clear coat will harden too much and that is when youget the cracking. This is especially so if a cheap (calendared) vinyl was used to make the decal. I use the more expensive (cast) vinyls for this application and have had great success. I can also do the etched glass type of decals but I wonder how these would hold up in a hot engine compartment. I can also do the huge wall mural photographs if anyone is interested. All I need is a high resolution (large) file to print from. Not sure if Ferrari provides these of new or historic photos in their press CDs.
Hi John, Its holding up good. I did this in October of last year. I do ocaasionally drive on top of the decal as well, but I do try not to turn the tires on it however. No problems so far. I used 5 pretty thin coats of clear poly from a spray can. I know another person who did this and they are happy so far as well, so overall it seems like a decent way to go. I love the decal - with a freshly waxed/ clean floor and the decal - the garage floor looks really nice.
if you have not got it done yet...i can help you out...call or email Dane / www.flwrapz.com / 941-323-2132
