I couldnt agree more pap. i'd never buy something (in terms of toys that is) unles i can pay it cash and i have no personal debt (i.e. no home mortgage, or credit card etc), yet it seems many people finance these things. kinda annoys me, because there are people who buy them just for the pose value on finance and i feel it diminishes my personal achievement of being able to really afford something. but horses for courses. many people justify things different ways. just like people probably think im nuts to deny myself something nice because of 'paper' money. Ne how my $0.02
I'm in agreeance with you however there are many who believe in cashflow. They feel having $500k invested is a better return rather than being tied up in a depreciating asset.
i know what your saying, however my view here is, that if they think that they will miss that $500k so much, they cant really afford what they have IMO. better to borrow money to invest IMO, at least then its tax effective borrowing, i doubt finance on a car at this level has any chance of mr ATO giving you anything back.
This thing is back for sale again with some extra pics. Only cost ya around $30-$35K to fix apparently. It looks like it would cost $35K just to fix the interior. And you wont find anyone to repair it with the turret 'bent' like that. "This is a Ferrari 355 berlineta 1/11/96 it has 33000 klm I had bought the for $140.000 and I wasn't covered by insurance so I have payed the car of and its up fo sale damaged . I don't have the money to repair the car so its a good opertunity for someone to own a ferrari for a cheap price .The car should cost about the 30 to 35 thousand to fix. PLEASE ONLY SERIOUS BIDERS" http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ferrari-355_W0QQitemZ180353465850QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Toys_Hobbies_Diecast_Vehicles?hash=item180353465850&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2%7C65%3A16%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50 Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
That car is rooted Paps. The fact that the roof and rear 3 qtr (on the left hand side) is creased tends to suggest the chasis is bent as well. Only good for parts IMHO.
Yeah, its a strange approach to money. Suggests the guy isn't used to protecting his holdings and one can draw implications from that. Either his first decent earn or ill gotten gains are primary candidates to match no experience of money management. Easy come, easy go, as they say.
Are you related to Rudd by any chance?? Perhaps you could interpret what he says half the time into plain English.
Rudd the great pragmatist? The guy probably found insurance cost more than the car! lol You might be right though. I notice its when I don't want to be too brutully frank the language gets florid. Much like Rudd.
Yep, car is fooked! Parts car at best! Man, it was probably insured, but insurance wont cover drunk drivers, underage drivers etc etc... Went past my mates paintshop yesterday. Saw two HEAVILY damaged cars there for repair. A 2004 XR6 turbo ute that was wrapped around a pole. Tray and cab ****ed on passenger side. Rear diff was ripped off its mount. Looked very nasty. Mate got tray off and car is up on stands. Chassis not bent. New tray/diff/lh door & cab skin and associated parts ordered. Parts cost total so far around $12K. Still got to paint and fit. Also has to buy a new wheel set. Total cost nearing $20K to repair! Young fella only bought it 2 weeks ago for $24K. He was drunk, so NO insurance. He paying for the damage himself. Also, a 2008 Toyota Hilux t/diesel. Same crap, young fella as drunk as a skunk rolled it on its side. New rh side skin fitted. Waiting for new doors/tray/trims etc.. The dickhead also started it when they rolled it back over and hydraulic'd the engine. Engine was pulled down last week and found 2 bent rods. $3K to repair engine and around $20K to repair the damage. Drunk again, NO insurance and he is paying for the damage himself. I dont know what the story is with this 355, but the owner has done himself out of A LOT of money without being able to claim insurance.
Many years a mate owned a pretty good Aston Martin DB5 in Sydney,I broached the insurance side with him as he had already lost a genuine E49 Charger in a very dubious deal.He still declined to insure. He took it into the paint and panel shop of a mate of his near Brookvale area for some paint work, the shop burnt down, the mate was uninsured,a Maserati Vignal convertible also went up....the panel beaters'.For the sake of a few lousy bucks close to a million bucks worth in todays language is toast.
Well it couldn't be your mate's first earn as he had the Charger so are you implying he might be shifty?
Not shifty,he some how "lost "the charger to an acquaintance who did,nt pay him.At some stage in that era he was living in a caravan park, again on the northern beaches (in a caravan with an annex).I had reason to go and see him one day, walked into the annex an here was a gold/bronze308GT4.Apparently he could only take the car out late at night to keep all the fluids going around the correct areas....hmmmmmm
Well conveniently he doesn't explain why the $55k bid he got last time wasn't enough yet now wants $45k "buy it now". Hopefully the people that put bids last time saw the dodgy fake bidding and will keep clear. Wait n see anyway
