While driving down Don Mills Road towards Eglinton, a Porsche "959" was coming up the other direction. I have no idea if they're now legal (classic car designation?) or whether it was just a body kit on a 911, but it looked very interesting!

Spotted a Black Porsche Cayenne Gemballa on Bathurst @ Finch yesterday, a car you thought couldn't get uglier, just did.
It seems to cross that place everyday at around 2pm.

I love them. I've been to Canepa Design in Santa Cruz, California twice now, where they federalize the 959's for road use in the US. Last time i went they had 12 different 959's being converted! 2 of which belonged to Seinfeild!

New addition to the office parking garage, a red on tan 599...gorgeous car, same guy who bought my 997S a few years ago...maybe I'll buy this from him in a year or so..
Usual suspects down there this week, 2 Porsche GT's (silver and yellow), a whack of 997 Turbos, Cayenne Turbo S, Lotus Exige, Bentleys, Maserati Quattroporte, DB7, Vantage, F430, 360, BMW Alpina 7 series and very soon an Eleanor.....

Same here Scott, that guy was FLYING! It seems to be a Porsche invasion every time I'm out there. Mostly GT3's/RS's.

Must have been the red 944. Was your brother driving on the track at all? Didn't see and 430's there but if he was out in any other cars I might have some pictures of him.

Blue Gallardo.....Is racing around Mosport at full speed with the top down a good idea?

Oh....., he's wearing a helmet and he has the windows rolled up.....

    Not.

He didn't even want to wear it. They told him if he didn't .....that he wouldn't be allowed on the track. He was probably calabrese anyway.......no need for a helmet.

Umm, a bit of fabric won't make a lick of difference if he rolls it...a convertible is a convertible....

    Good one Joe!

Racing around Mosport is a bit different from racing around Hwy 7. :D

I would think the fabric (roof on) might prevent him from being ejected and/or decapitated during a rollover?

I didn't mean to be disrespect the owner of the Gallardo, I'm just curious to know the protocol regarding 'top down' track racing.

Usually, I thought track regulations at most track facilities concerning open top cars requires a roll cage installed for liability and safety reasons. I have seen some P and F convertible tops at some other track facilities with removable roll cage, where it can be unmounted when not racing. Yes it is quite surprising that Mosport allowed that guy with the helmet only and no roll cage.

    -Red F430
    -White SL63 AMG
-Black Mini Cooper JCW (I know its a mini, but its the first one i've seen)

Oh and a Black M5 flooring it at a red light. Made a loud screech and zoomed away. Turned everyones heads.

Dear good friend from the North,

I see what you are trying to say. However, I am not sure you noticed but most racecars have had no roof for well over a century :)

True.....but that was way before the new days of "Waivers, lawyers, safety clauses, liability insurance, ministry of transportation...etc"

But then again, if you are racing around the Mosport track, its all at your own risk. (No insurance coverage, or track accident liability)
