Brawn just saying, he was expecting Rubens to win today.
Yeah, I hear you I'm hoping that info is correct too At least Ferrari has finally found some decent race pace. If we look back prior to that stop Massa was not that far behind Button.
On board footage from LH's car shows FA ran him on to the grass at the start, and he was real lucky driving through the carnage at the start. Also a great pass Webber made on FA.
Ok, I'm off! See you all next race! Here are the pts for the title race! 01 Jenson Button 41 (4 Wins) 02 Rubens Barrichello 27 03 Sebastian Vettel 23 (1 Win) 04 Mark Webber 15.5 05 Jarno Trulli 14.5 06 Timo Glock 12 07 Lewis Hamilton 9 08 Fernando Alonso 9 09 Nick Heidfeld 6 10 Nico Rosberg 4.5 01 Brawn-Mercedes 68 02 RBR-Renault 38.5 03 Toyota 26.5 04 McLaren-Mercedes 13 05 Renault 9 06 BMW Sauber 6 07 Ferrari 6 08 Williams-Toyota 4.5 09 STR-Ferrari 4
I said before someone needs to get fired - I was wrong! Quite a few people need to be fired at Ferrari!
Watched the whole race, we could of had 3rd with a little luck and 4th for sure. It was nice to see a Ferrari in the lead after the first pit. It's gonna be a long season.
He might get quite a bit more of the rough handling this year. He made no friends dishing it out last season.
That's total B.S. If Rubens and Jensen were on the same 2-stop strategy, Rubens would have won. I feel badly for him, but had he been driving like a #1 all season, he wouldn't be relegated to giving away victories by every team he drives for. (Note: If Brawn DIDN'T say he expected Rubens to win that would constitute team orders, which are illegal) I thought Super Aguri returning to the grid was just an awful rumor. After watching Ferrari once again cock it up (bringing Massa in early the first stop, bringing him in too early the second stop and giving away 2nd place, fuel rig/poor fueling strat), I'm convinced Ido is in charge of race management. I can't even watch anymore...the F60b has moved a step forward, but they've yet to come to grips with it (although it started running well after losing that wheel spat). From the lunk-headed decision to not send Kimi out, the newfound reliability issues (NEVER happened under Brawn, as we can see even with his new team) and horrible race management Dumbmenicali and the other Ferraretards won't win a race this season unless all of the front runners fall out from a massive pile up. It's not even about the car anymore, it's about a team that acts like they've never been in F1 before. The ONLY reason they won the WCC last year is because they were operating from the remnants of Todt's team. Once he left, the feces hit the fan and fell into the paddock (with a headset on). Congrats to Jensen...he absolutely will be the champ this year with the best car and best team. HUGE congrats to Ross for taking a team that wasn't supposed to even be on the grid this year and once again working his magic. Red Bull needs to re-think their race strategy...if they would fuel light, they could get out in the lead and not continue to get trapped behind slower KERS cars like McLaren and Ferrari. That's just another area where Brawn is just out-thinking the competition. Vettel is a fast guy in a good car, but you would figure that they'd use his quickness advantage to get out front immediately versus fueling him to outlast Brawn in a pit-stop battle. They should take their chances fueling a couple of laps lighter and getting out to a lead. Anyway, boring race. The only excitement (crash not included) was seeing Rubens give up another victory in the name of "team" and trying to see if Ferrari couldn't TOTALLY screw this race up.
Actually, we should have had second if Massa hadn't driven the tires off and forcing an early second pit. I'm not even certain if the tires were a problem, he was taking time out of Jensen's lead and they brought him in about 6 laps early.
Just racing. Alonso had as much right to being in the points as LH. Actually, Lewis was making the aggressive pass on FA coming out of the pits and Fernando blocked it successfully. The McLaren was a woeful POS this weekend with the team doing nothing to update its performance. I think McLaren has thrown the towel in this season, while Ferrari dropped the towel in fuel and accidentally tossed a cigarette on it.
True and at some point they will even get on the podium or possibly win a race. But I keep saying what I said after the 2nd race: The chase for the title is over. The points gap is widening every race. Ferrari should give up this season and focus solely on 2010.
Why is a driver making race management decisions? Rubens didn't decide on his 3-stopper to give Jensen the win, Brawn did. Why can't Ferrari race management control the race?
At this point if I were Luca I would clean the house and put Michael S at the head of the racing team. What a shameful performance! What an embarassment!
I was expecting the top teams to take points off eachother which would Ferrari enable to keep in touch but Brawn's looking very mature and don't forget: barely any reliability or other problems for them.
Wow...i really can't imagine how messed up Ferrari are. Seriously. I can only imagine Massa's frustration. Any word on Kimi's retirement yet? Was it Kers related? I don't understand. Ferrari haven't perfected the bloody KERS system, yet they put it in the car, finds out it can't work just before the start, and have a weight penalty t/out the race. What a shame, and stupid call from Ferrari.
Whoa!! slow down with the Fezza bashing, on the whole I think they have made a big step in the right direction here. The way I see it, IF Massa had got more fuel on board on his pit stop, Vettel would have taken him any way. Vettel was all over Massa even when he was at full tilt using all his fuel, his finish position IMO is probably 1-2 places of true pace, Kimi's car well it speaks for it's self, but not slow even without KERS working.
