NY/NJ - Sound system store recommendation?

Does anyone have any recommendations for a good sound system install store in Northern Jersey or bordering NY areas? Thanks.

I have used Samm Sound in Caldwell (or West Caldwell) NJ as they did excellent work, BUT the last time I used them was back in 2002 or 2003- I'm unsure of if it's the same owners, etc today. It was the only place I would go (had them install stock sized speakers in my 911 and construct a board to hold a small amp under the trunk mat, which is strapped to the gas tank- no drilling/alteration to the car). I wanted to maintain a stock appearance- they did top notch work- I used them on all 3 911's I've had (have had the one I now own since 2002 so that's why I haven't been back to them recently). Anyway, they used to always have high end cars there for work over the years (Ferrari, Lotus, Porsche, etc)

That place took my money and ruined my Subaru a few years back....they didnt give a crap about the quality of work they did and ended up cutting my factor harness and messed up the wiring in my car so bad that it took $100s of just to undue the work they did..... put it this way when I took my car to best buy a generally ****ty installer they looked at the wiring in my car and asked me "what idiot had done this"?

Never used them for audio but I would trust Mobile Works if I were to do anything in the future!

 

Gus at Technik1 is one of the best and also very reasonable with his fees.

Call him...he just did my C4S and I couldn't be happier.

 

+1...Gus and Angelo are an absolute pleasure to deal with and they take tremendous pride in their work.

 

actually, the recommendation is for a friend to install a dvd system for his kids but please don't let that discourage people with way too much free time from posting.

 

Fair enough- it had been many years since I have been there. In the 80's and 90's they were the place to go for high end work....

 

Technik 1 is a great choice. You could also check out Mobile-Addictions in Staten Italy.

 

I highly recommend Sound Waves in Parsippany 973-334-9283. Ask for Sammy (one of the owners) i know they have worked on numerous exotics such as Porsche GT2's (997) and carrera GT's and do DVD's for Paul Miller Porsche on a regular basis. Great work.

 

Just wanted to resurrect this thread with a big vote for Gus and Technik1. He installed an amazing DVD/Nav/Bluetooth/Sat/Backup Camera system in my F360 2.5 years ago. Last week my Satellite radio suddenly died so I called Gus for help. He told me to come in to his new shop where 2 guys worked for an hour only to find out that a cable connecting SatRadio to the head-unit needed replacement. They fixed it and refused to charge me a penny for it -- that's 2.5 years after the original work! You don't get this kind of warranty service from anywhere else.

I worked for Gus and Angelo back in 2005. They both are GREAT guys. To this day I've never had better "bosses". They put out great work, treat people right and run that shop like one big family. I am proud to say I know them both and even though I haven't spoken to either of them in a while I know I could call them tomorrow asking for a favor and they'd drop what they are doing to help!
