The wood and fiberglass bodies and two-stroke galloping chipmunk were way too short of ...... not enough.

Drove like gocarts tho, so a lot of fun could be had at 30 mph. Top speed of 60 mph took about 2 weeks to get there.

It appears that Dodge has about 50% of the votes here.

I dont know if you have these in the States. To this day i still have no idea how the gearbox worked!

It belonged to a girl i knew and i had to drive it for her. The doors felt like they were made of paper and held closed by a little plastic latch.

No one has cast a vote for the lamented Yugo? I hate to admit this but back in the day I worked at a dealership that sold those little beasties, so I've driven or pushed hundreds of them. The funny thing was that when they ran they were kind of fun to drive, in the sense that you never knew if you were going to make it back, and their handling was so sloppy it was like a shopping cart with a wobbly wheel. The gear shift felt like a broomstick in a bucket of jello and you always had the feeling that you could easily poke your finger through any surface of the car if you were so inclined.

Guys, the Neon isn't that bad. Boring, cheap feeling, rattly, loud...all these are true. But not the worst, especially compared to the relatively low cost.

For me the worst is what offers the least in return for your investment. And that would go to a Suburban or Yukon. I drove a brand new one the same day I ended up buying a used ML500. The Yukon was sloppy, underpowered, braked poorly, had remarkably uncomfortable seating, and on the highway sounded like an echo chamber. The ML even at 56k miles felt superior in every way.

So if you think someone is an idiot for buying a new $14k POS neon, how about the fool that forks out $40k for an equally POS Yukon?

One that sticks in my mind was a Pontiac Firebird, kinda like the "Smoky and the Bandit" car. I hated it, and I can't understand why anyone would find them "cool". Poor design, poor construction, no fun to drive.

80-something Chevette. Truly a POS. The Yugo I had before it and the Mercury Bobcat (Pinto) were much better machinery.

Same for the last new Firebird. Guy I knew had the last model year (2002?) and it drove like a cast iron fireplace.

2nd gen throttle for 3.8L engine was like a toggle switch, PITA to drive.

Was at local Ford dealership, walked past long line of last gen Tauruses parked ass out, not a single bumper was aligned properly to sheet metal.

1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue. How does a 3.5 liter V6 engine only make 215hp? Its ugly, slow as hell, and ever though it only has 70,xxx miles on it, the tranny is slowly destroying itself.

A used Yellow with -- get this -- yellow-greenish vinyl interior -- Ford Pinto. I bought it used thinking it would be a good run about car just out of college. Man, was I mistaken. That car was absolute trash. It would be difficult to make a car worse. Mine had to be recalled because of the exploding gas tank issue. When I saw all they did was put in a piece of plastic liner to keep the gas from sloshing forward when the tank ruptured, I knew this car had to go. I bet it cost them 2 bucks.

I never bought another Ford again.

Opel Corsa diesel. Is the right pedal really the "accelerator" ?
Lamborghini LM002. Yeah, flame me. Drive one first. What a pile of crap. Consumption is pathetic, too.
Aston V8 volante automatic. The Geneva show car from the 80s. Ouch. Torque converter has probably been replaced by a rubber band. Root leaks, loud bangs coming randomly from the exhaust, oh, and to finish with wiper blades fight for supremacy on the windscreen, overlap, crash... What else is there to say...proudly made in the uk ?

In about 1990 I rented a Ford Fiesta which, like ryalex's Caliber, was brand new (6miles on the clock). It felt like it had already done 100k miles and was already worn out! What a heap of scrap :(
