F355 Horn

You should check the horn,cause sometimes water get inside the little motor.

 

Mine isnt a Spyder but it have the compressor on the left side fender.

 

It should be in the space in front of your left front wheel. Pull your wheel off and then unscrew the plate. It is very easy to fix. Usually the air compressor will sieze up. You have to take it and the horn out by unbolting it. Once out you can replace the compressor with another of similar diameter so that it will fit in the same clamp. If you find another compressor that is smaller then you will have to fill the void. If you are a little inclined then you can take apart the compressor and clean and lube the pivot area of the motor and do an overall cleanup untill it spins freely. Its an easy fix.

 

I replace mine once with a universal replacement($35.00) about a year ago and its working fine..

So your saying that you removed the metal cover in front of your front left wheel and it was not there? No wonder its not working.. Well on the ones ive seen that is where it is.

 

Make sure that you are getting power to the compressor before replacing it. You can also take the compressor out and run 12 volts directly to it to see if it works. If it is blowing air then the compressor is not the problem.

 

Don't want to confuse you if you're not mechanically inclined, but:

1) Are you sure that you hooked up to a good, functional 12v power source at the lighter? Does it make a difference whether or not the key is on?

2) Did you have the body of the horn compressor grounded when you hooked up 12v power to it? It won't work if it isn't grounded.

3) Did you get a "click" or a spark or anything when you hooked up power to the compressor? If you didn't get ANYTHING, then I suspect that you didn't get a good test.
