I came home Monday to find a tiny kitten crying & huddled in the bushes next to my front door. When I approached it ducked under my 240Z & has been up in the engine ever since. We’ve had cold w/ monsoons all week & I thought it would die from exposure but not. I’ve been putting canned food out under the car & it comes down to eat but I can’t catch it. It cries desperately when I call it. Have you ever used a trap? Suggestions?

A live trap will work well in this situation. A friend of mine uses this technique often and it has yet to fail him.

Thats a hav-a-heart trap and they work great for cats, possums and raccoons.

Its nice because you can release if you want or you can put the tip of your .22 rifle through the wire (use .22 CBs, sounds like a pellet gun) to correct your problem.***

Finally, if your neighbor's cat is the object of your attention and he happens to see it in the trap before you, you're still golden as you were using a Hav-A-Heart trap, clearly you were planning no harm to the little cat food thief!!! Wink-wink... :)***

*** purely a humor post I'd never do any of this myself. Ever. Never.

Clearly the cat has claimed your 240Z as its own. Unfortunately, under feline law, you are required to surrender the vehicle to the cat.

+1 on those! We have squirrels in the office and had to get those in the ceiling. I saw the pest control guy pull one out alive and as wild as ever. If you are going to use that, check it often. Good luck!

The last time I got a free kitten, it cost me $1000 in vet bills and only lived six months, but if I had to do it all over again; it was worth it.

I outfitted a planter turned on side w/ an old sweat shirt in the corner. It sometimes goes in there. But as soon as I sneak up, it scoots under the Z. I’ve been feeding canned cat food, tuna, shredded cheese & it eats all. It’s killing me I can’t win over this kitty to come to me. It just cries desperately.
Where do you get the “have a heart" traps?

I found my China at the Humane Society & she graced me w/ 10 years of her presents after spending mega bucks. How can you say “no”?

I called the Humane Society & they say as soon as I take it to a vet the kitten is legally mine & my responsibility. Legally, I am bound to provide food & shelter. To thrust all on a good Samaritan is a bit much IMO.
I have 3 cats already (2 kittens) & don’t need another just now. The Chevy 350 V8 Z engine has many qualities.

    Where to get the trap?
