It truly amazes me how ignorant you are showing yourself to be when you are attempting to make it shown you are "in the know." Given the tight circumstances regarding this incident, I'm quite sure you were not part of that.

Just then they came in sight of thirty or forty windmills that rise from that plain. And no sooner did Don Quixote see them that he said to his squire, "Fortune is guiding our affairs better than we ourselves could have wished. Do you see over yonder, friend Sancho, thirty or forty hulking giants? I intend to do battle with them and slay them. With their spoils we shall begin to be rich for this is a righteous war and the removal of so foul a brood from off the face of the earth is a service God will bless."

    "What giants?" asked Sancho Panza.

"Those you see over there," replied his master, "with their long arms. Some of them have arms well nigh two leagues in length."

"Take care, sir," cried Sancho. "Those over there are not giants but windmills. Those things that seem to be their arms are sails which, when they are whirled around by the wind, turn the millstone."

Hmmm, lets pull this apart shall we ?

    1) All the news reports are wrong

Pretty much, especially in reference to "drug sting", "drugs" etc etc...completely inaccurate

    2) The FBI is not involved

Juvenile statement, when it is clearly noted by all parties that an FBI agent was driving...pointless statement.

    3) There are no drugs involved

You are correct, even if trying to insinuate otherwise

    4) The District Attorney and Local Attorney are wrong

depending what they said (likely nothing), you are correct...

    5) Its all a big mistake, I know nothing

some aspects of the reporting and conjecture, yes, the second part, most definitely :)

    6) June 8th, things will be clearer.

Actually, as far as the case is concerned, things are much clearer today (as of about an hour ago in fact) ....just cannot discuss, sorry.

But, when the facts do come out, it will be quite clear that drugs etc is off base, and initial press reporting inaccurate on a number of fronts.....as well as the breathless punditry found in isolated cases here.

Perhaps you didn't notice but, when Ruf MD offered his clarification, my response was: "OK, noted".

I always like Lenny Bruce's routine about the best thing to say when your wife comes home and finds you naked on top of her best friend on the living room floor.

"Who are you going to believe me or your eyes?"

Wow. The plot thickens. I normally try and catch a few minutes of Days of Our Lives while getting a bite of lunch, but I think this thread has sufficed for today.
Regardless of the circumstances, always sad to see a magnificent car damaged. Hopefully in time it will be properly restored and continue to be a dream come true for a deserving individual.

Getting back to the discussion at hand...

I was in the area today and took a couple of pictures of what the scene looks like.
I am not a professional reconstruction expert but heres what I saw.

The road is straight except for a slight rise to it.No turn he would have negotiated in either direction within 100 yds.He was going in a westerly direction, in the right lane, and the ends swapped evidenced by two black marks on the yellow line going towards the curb. The car came to rest across said curb in a somewhat sideways/head on manner against the tree on the driver side. Now pointing in a rather easterly direction at rest. The sidewalk is some 3.5-4 feet above a parking lot.If he had gone through the hedge,as stated earlier, it would have certainly ended up on top of another car or on its side.Dry pavement.Looks like to me it got tail happy and spun.He could have gotten a good bit of speed up before it spun out.I know at about 4500 rpm that car came alive and could have overpowered the tires in a lower gear.
Now do I get my junior Gman badge?

but Miami vice in hot pursuit of columbian drug dealers, driving their undercover F50 but with bald tires, on the edge and losing control in the corners. Its just so much more exciting!!

Great pics! What time of day did this take place? For those of you not local to the area, that is a fairly high-traffic road that surely would have produced many witnesses if it happened during the day.

In my opinion, this is simply a cover up for the too-often-encountered situation of someone naive and curious getting into too much car to handle. The driver, whomever they were, got in way over their head once they gunned the accelerator. It happens all of the time, in many cases ending in a fatality.

Such an assumption has nothing to do with being anti law enforcement; everything to do with driver inexperience.
