FBI wrecks an F50 in Lexington Ky

Some how it doesn't surprise me that The DEA agent didn't know anything about this...

Not to take this off topic but it truly saddens me to see a F50 wrecked like that. A number of years ago, I happened to come across another unfortunate F50 at a local body shop that had been damaged as a result of ignorance shall we say? The owner was talking on the phone when he didn't notice the stopped SUV ahead of him.

What a waste of a beautiful car. I doubt the Feds will spend the money to fix it if they don't have to. ;(

Somebody should have done their homework....this is a $600,000 asset, whose control/ownership was in a state of limbo. An Agent, or 'pseudo-Agent' should never have been given the keys to this machine, period. This is why God created Flat-beds to transport vehicles of this signifigance and value. Accidents happen, I understand, but....when they do, I and many others here expect better accountability from our Federal Agents (who are licensed to carry firearms, BTW). A 40-mph tire issue? My Ford Ranger wouldn't look like that if it experienced a 40-mph tire issue. That's just plain B.S. unaccountability.

 

Ok,he could have been to 100 driving schools .....but not likely,lets be honest about this,by no means should an FBI agent( & a friend of mine is an agent so Im not bashing them) be driving a car that would take the rest off his life to pay for.Towed it like you said,end of story.I understand law enforcement goes to driving school & the FBI's might be better than the local or states but it doesnt look good & he should never have been put in a position to have this happen.I wish I could have heard the cell phone call to his boss explaining this. Slick tires?Whatever that means, if so go SLOWER. To say that ANYONE with an F50 that a) isnt theres & B) is gov property would screw around is a good bet. Do you realize there are many people on this site who are weekend racers, semi-pro racers, and professional racers? And there are probably hundreds, if not thousands, who have taken serious professional race instruction and raced cars - on a track - in anger?

I am very familiar with law enforcement car training. To suggest that an FBI agent, due to that training, would have "much mor edriver training... than almost anyone here..." is an asinine thing to say. Really.

and honestly, when a car is impounded, how often do you see it being driven away by ..... anybody? It's always towed or flatbedded. That is standard procedure. The fact that anyone drove this car at all, and was then damaged, is a dead giveaway and admission of guilt on behalf of the law enforcement element handling it.

I lived in Southern California a few years back and there was a big money laundering bust of an exotic car dealership in Costa Mesa (a real Bugati Atlantic, several Lambos, Ferrari's, etc) and the FBI and IRS agents drove them and posed for press photos. The Feds rarely tow them because when it comes to Feds they love to flaunt their booty. I was thinking, "this guy hasn't even been to trial yet and they are acting as though it is already done and over". Then I realized that with the Feds you are guilty before proven innocent. How many defense cases are won against the Feds? Not many.

 

Was it slick tires or a famous pile of Kentucky horse crap that spun him out? Enquiring minds want to know. LOL.

To me it seens he was doing 40 before e stepped the gas pedal all the way to the carbon fiber. The car swirled and he didn't had the experience to handel it. That would explain the crash.

I'm not familiar with US law, so please allow me some questions?

Is law-enforcement allowed to drive any vehicle without the consent of the owner?
2)
If the car was indeed on slick tyres, as some versions read, the car wouldn't be street legal, right? Wouldn't the law enforcement agent intending to take a car to the street need to ascertain that the vehicle is indeed a street-legal vehicle?
3)
Who will write the report on this accident?

If it is not the rear fender/engine cover moved, the damage to the vehicle looks quite extensive: look at how the wheel is positioned.
