Title is extremely misleading. The f450 will look nothing like that.
Watch for the final version pics to be leaked in the near future. Someone on the inside/outside has seen this thing and can probably communicate what it'll look like to guys like Hans G. Lehmann et al.
here's another rendering from a very reliable source. I'm glad they are going back to their design roots with the 308 intakes. I'm not sure about the old school antenna though. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yeah not quite sure about the front end or the antenna. It reminds me of a souped up Pinto. Looks as though it is geared to the younger generation .... LOL. Probably about as accurate as some of the other photos.
You're right. And I seriously doubt this new car will look anything like the 430. It will look completely different.
i saw this street racer code named cronus 1119 and they consider it to be a 368 Image Unavailable, Please Login
Lads, before trashing this thread, probably you want to take a look at the link on Post No. 4. This is the link to the Lehmann pictures that are worth discussing about.
I've seen some pics online for the new F450. Some look like a regular F430 with Scuderia exhaust and air vents on the engine. I've also seen pics where it looks kinda like the California. The pics of the California looking one was actually quite ugly. What do you guys think? F430 looking: http://image.automotive.com/f/future/spied_vehicles/coupes/112_0903_2011_ferrari_f450_spycam/17085982+soriginal/2011-ferrari-f450-prototype-rear-driver-three-quarter.jpg California looking F450: http://carbl.com/im/2009/03/f450-2-550x366.jpg AND http://pictures.topspeed.com/cars/car-news/ferrari-f450-rendering-ar72402/IMG/jpg/200903/ferrari-f450-coming-w.jpg
Check the date on that link. March 27. Its two months ago and we already talk about that in this megathread: http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=237496 EDIT: You can look at the discussion of that spy pics and rendering at page 40, post 788.
...yet another 'artists impression' of what it may look like. I hope this one's accurate! dave Image Unavailable, Please Login
From what I understand, this is just an independent design concept. Nothing to do with the F430 replacement.
I don't know, man. I tend to prefer angular cars over rounded ones, but this one might be TOO angular. Looks a bit like a Lamborghini, don't you think?
Two weeks ago we were with 20 chatters 2 days in Maranello during the MM and RM auctions. We have seen those 430's with minor exhaust changes which people like to call the test mules. To my opinion those are just 430's, come on.. You won't see anything of the new car on the road and all these artist impressions don't help neither. I can also draw a car and post it. I can hardly believe the car will look like these 430 lines. They deal 10 years with a body (348-355)(360-430) and I expect something really different. I also heard the term F450. But then like the old days, as in 450cc per cylinder which would make it a 3.6 litre car (downsizing...?). I am really courious about the new car. I hope they don't continue the 599/california lines.
Lets hope Ferrari have agreed to this direction. It's the progresive design shift Pininfarina need to give Ferrari as angles increase in the world of auto-design. Curves can be perfectly placed to enhance, but let's not foget the angular F40 and "race-car" look that is provided by a car with the right edges. This is edgy, looks like more downforce can be achieved, and the car looks fast as is. Very agressive. I like it. _J
It sure is exciting as we approach the launch of a new model, and Ferrari certainly has a lot of pressure to maintain itself as one of (if not the top) automotive designer. I don't think Ferrari will just bang it out and hope it takes, they seem to have a pretty solid track record with churning-out some great designs. Course, with each new model there's a few querks that are hard to accept, but it doesn't take long before we're proclaiming how it grew on us. When the 430 came out few people liked the take on the Enzo rear-end and thought the 360 had the better rear...but now the 430 seems widely regarded as the better design. So a new design comes out, we adjust to a few querks and it becomes the new thing. Performance is always on the increase, just gotta wonder about the design....not so sure about the front-end on some of these pics.
Ferrari has dressed up test mules to look like current offerings for years. Don't underestimate the current vehicles being seen around Maranello considering that in 2000 Ferrari used a 348-esque car to test the Enzo engine...
Of course, I know John, I just want to that I can't understand all the hassle about these cars as they are all 99% in 430 body/discuise.
There are different types of "mules" in the auto industry. Some are simply an engine mule car to test the engine itself...not the overall performance package. That is likely what those "exhaust only" 430s are...engine mules.
Jeez, what happened to this thread? Everyone keeps posting photoshops and design-school models and trying to pass them off. The photo here is NOT an artist's impression but an aspiring designer's own concept.
Sorry if this is an old pic. I did look through many pages but shhesh there are over 70 of them... Image Unavailable, Please Login
