Hey, I hasten to add, not by me, but by Toyota [Don't want to get in trouble.....] Wishbones, front wheels & brake discs - Euro 200 Brake calipers - 300 Through to: Engine cover with underfloor & rearwing - 5,000 The link: http://www.toyota-f1-shop.com/ Enjoy! Cheers, Ian
Holy sh** those are great prices!! I ALWAYS wanted a F1 car nose to hang on the wall!! Thank you very much Ian, I owe you one for posting this.
By faaaaar. But Ferrari F1 parts are much more desirable... No denying that... But I can't justify a part to hang on the wall that costs as much as a second hand Ferrari.
You can also buy a jaguar RF3 F1 car complete for what i thought was 80K GBP. Not exactly expensive if you ask me.
Agreed - But, buying the car is the cheap part - You can't even start the thing up without a bunch of computers and guys that know how to "drive" 'em. Once you do get it running (not easy) the real expenses begin........ Unless you want to hang it on the wall of course - Doesn't MS have one hanging up somewhere? - But, that's an expensive piece of artwork IMHO Glad everyone appreciates the link. Cheers, Ian
+1 Speedgear have Ferrari 1/2 size steering wheels and the like, but man they're expensive! If you were really "shady" (or "fast" as in my user name - Not fast as in "quick" btw!) you could paint the nose red, put the appropriate "decals" on the sucker and very, very few people would know the difference....... [I'm not saying you should, but you could...... ] Cheers, Ian
I've sent them e-mail regarding the F1 nose, asked if the prices where firms or if they accepted "higher bidder gets it".
I just enquired about the cheaper stuff (wheels, brake parts, wishbone). I live in the US so I will post what they say regarding shipping and what not if you guys are interested. Also, anyone know of some reputable places online to purchase parts or memoribilia like this?
Wow those are pretty cheap considering what I've seen listed for other F1 parts in the past. If I had the money lying around I'd love to get my hands on the brake or caliper.
I'm interested in a wheel, brake rotor and caliper. I'll fabricate a hub and mount it on my office wall Does anyone know if these are race-used parts or new parts? The pics seem new, but I don't know why they would be selling new parts? Also, I am guessing they are limited stock, or.... maybe not?
I'm not arguing with you its going to be cheap or not, but the guys at euroBOSS actually get a lot of mileage out of their F1 cars by turning down the revs a lot. IIRC in 2003~ they ran up to 19K rpm, but in euroBOSS they turn the revs down to around 15K and they get so much more mileage out of them. Also it looks like they don't have many guys actually needed to start it up and keep it running. Normally they have 1 guy watching the monitors, 1 to start it up and 4 for the wheels/tires. Although They could be running the 4 litre JUDD's needing so few people to keep an eye on it and get it running... As for the art works...Well you can get F1 cars without running gear fairly cheap, an ARROWS A23 (or A21) is up for sale for 20K GBP (without running gear). Stick that on your wall and all of a sudden it looks pretty good value compared to a painting of a boat in rough waters for the same price if you ask me.
"Yeah I ditched the aftermarket wheels... bought me some original Toyota stuff... " EuroBoss is a joke imho. I saw them race one time at a huge vintage car festival at the Hockenheimring. When I walked through the pits one of the owners was bragging how they were the ones to preserve F1 heritage. In reality, they all ripped out the original engines and everything that makes a certain car unique and replaced them with cheaper parts from Judd etc. Not very different from creating a Ferrari replica out of a Fiero. Yes, driving F1 cars is freaking expensive, but if you can't afford it, just don't do it.
They're not really racing them per se though. Its a bunch of rich guys who happen to have bought F1 cars and they like driving them. To keep the cost down some replace the engines with cheaper (and much, much more accessible) judd engines (to put costs in perspective, a factory V10 engine from renault allegedly costs £150K. A judd V10 can be had from £30K. since the guys who own these cars aren't real F1 drivers they know they can't get the most out of it they replace the engines with the cheaper engine). Some guys do keep the original engine in though, Klaas Zwart has an early 90's Ferrari F1 (among a couple more including benettons). So personally, I dont really agree with 'If you can't afford to run it, don't do it'. These guys just see it as a trackday and there is little point blowing 200K every other weekend running these cars when the same rush can be had for 1/10th of that...
I'd love those kinds of parts too, but considering how guarded engine development is in F1, there's no chance of that happening. Truly Japanese auto prices!
Agree, but then they shouldn't try to pass their cars off as vintage F1 cars - the impression which they tried to leave at the two events where I saw them.
You have a point. But personally I wouldn't have a problem with using a Judd V10 (believe they are in fact F1 engines, just turned down?) if it wasn't an F1 car with any significant history. If it was a championship car or even a winning car i'd be slightly skeptical about it.
