Does anyone have experience with 360 wheels installed on a 348? Offset issues going from front 7.5" +49 to 7.5" +31.5 and rear 9" +43 to 10" +39? Does the wider track on the front add to oversteer/added camber? Thanks in advance....... Life may begin at 30, but it doesnt get real interesting until about 150. __________________________________________ Faster, faster, faster, until the thrill of speed overcomes the fear of death... I had 360 wheels on my 93' SS and they bolted right up just fine. The car was noticeably more stable at speed and less "twitchy". Image Unavailable, Please Login
Love that look and it is far more balanced in person than a photo makes those wheels appear. Darkangel has them on his Spider and they just bolted right up.
I takes some work to make 360 wheels sit right on 348. Sure they bolt right up, but tire size, offset and bolts are off. I will mount mine this Sunday, and will report back how i think they should be mounted. BUT 360 wheels on 348 is a GREAT look imo!
Dave, good to see you back on Fchat. That particular 93 SS still has the 360 wheels on it. I actually bought a set of original wheels, intending to return the car to a stock look. But I like the current look and haven't been able to bring myself to do it. Side benefit of the 360 wheels -- they are very easy to clean, both inside and out. - Eric Image Unavailable, Please Login
I placed the 360 rims on my 92 ts two years ago and besides thinking it improves the looks, and helps with the twitchy aspects of the car, a la Davey Jones comment, they also weigh less than the original sea anchors. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I had the regular 360 wheels on my spider. I switched to the mod. 360 wheels this past winter. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
HI ERIC!!! MAN - THAT CAR STILL LOOKS SWEEEEET!!!!!! Yeah, I'd keep the orig wheels because they might be hard to get in the future. If you put 'em back on.... $20 says you'll go back to the 360 ones in about a week
I always loved this angle with a clean mirror. I was trying to hide the fact that the fog light were out at the time. The wheels are very stable but it still twitches from the rear when pushed hard. Feels like the rear wheel base could still be opened up. It also feels like it railroad tracks while coasting but that could be part of that fact that the tires are a wider footprint. I'm no suspension tuner but I know that others have some experience we could learn from. Image Unavailable, Please Login
On second thought yikes. I've got to take some pictures with the new Glasurit paint and properly fitted bits.
Man that picture is sweet! I did a double take as it looks like a perfect die cast model with the focus and all.
True confession time -- in the original snapshot, the background was also in focus. I blurred the background in photoshop -- I really liked the way the burred background made the car seem to pop out of the picture. - Eric
Bah, them's fighting words, dude! To each his own. I prefer the 355 look, but am not opposed to the 360's. Either way you get a lot more tire choices than thsoe obsolete 348 17" wheels that's for sure.
As Vince said, mine bolted right on, no issues and the car handling is improved greatly versus the stock wheels. Image Unavailable, Please Login
