There is no censorship automatism involved, but the pics can't be bigger than 640x480 pixels. Also if you are not subscribed, you only have a handful of pics you can post. Once you are subscribed, that limit goes away.

Special thanks to Carla for inviting us to the party!

It was a stunning event: My favourite combination of Ferraris, planes and a lovely buffet.

Was great to see a few old friends again: Carla, Norbert, Gene, Noel and Joe, although I didn't see him, but his car.

It was also fun to stroll the parking lot outside: Looked like my dream garage collection from the PS3 "GT5": The best of the best in exotics. All the big hitters. Heck, even the overflow parking had a bunch of Porsches, Masers and 430s.

Those are beautiful pictures!!! My friend Jack drove by there yesterday and called me to tell me to come over there with my camera. I was in the middle of a gig. :p Love that fisheye!

That's awesome! So, did you fly it by yourself or did you have a co-pilot/instructor to help you?

Thanks. Coming from you I particularly appreciate that. :)

    LOL

I had a pilot, who flew the plane. My "training" doesn't go beyond MS-Flightsimulator. :)

But once we were airborne, he let me control the plane, so I did some turns. The Russians are pretty casual about it, if you want and know what you're doing, they let you go pretty far with it. I met a guy from England there, who goes regularly to fly all the Russian fighter jets and he has done take offs and and even landing to the final approach.

For me this was part of my week of "cosmonaut training" in Star City, but that's another story for a hijack. :)

PS: There is an add-on to Flightsimulator just for the L-39 and it is very realistic. While in Russia I actually met one of the programmers. Small world.

Given the title of this thread it is kinda ironic that there still hasn't been a single picture of that California unveiled...

Thanks for the complement! Your photographs are very rich in color! Must be hard to achieve that... you know... shooting with a Nikon and all... :D

Haha :D That's really cool. I would have thrown up. :p

I was glad we arrived early to cover the cars before the 400+ guests arrived.

We did loops and barrell rolls and I was concerned I might ruin the lovely instruments in front of me, but then I remembered the Oxygen switch on the panel. A cool and constant flow of pure oxygen helps tremendously ;)

Cool pics, I know that hangar very well. Hangar 19, used to belong to Dean Witter when they had a flight department at PWK. Nice to see Citation Shares doing their part! Anyone know if there were any Enzos there? I still would love to get a look at one of them in person. And I only live about ten minutes from PWK.

    Andreas,

I was close to sending you to take a lie detector test, than I got the pictures with the solid proof! Are you not telling me some thing? Are you working for the CIA? Flying in Russian jets over Moscow back in what looks like 1970's when Russia was still a communist state makes you a CIA agent, a double agent or a jet air plane hijacker. BTW the pictures you took at the event look great! The one of me and my wife is very nice, but could you air brush me to about 185 LBS next time.

    Genno.

This is about my other passion: Manned spaceflight. A few years ago I spent a week at Star City (the Russian equivalent of NASA's JSC in Houston) doing all kinds of cosmonaut training. The L-39 is the jet trainer cosmonauts use (would be the T-38 for NASA astronauts) and so I wanted to get a ride/flight in it. That was the easy part of that week. :)

No CIA license required. All they want is a pile of green.
