Sorry, Mike. We seem to be letting you down. Can't say I have ever been a basketball fan, but I do see a fair bit or excitement around here. Lots of banners on balconies and cars with flags in the windows. To establish the Ferrari connection, does anyone have any up to date info on Shaq's 612 Scaglietti with the rear seats removed? I seem to remember it was for sale at F of SF for a couple of years. The driver's seat was moved back so far I doubt many other people could drive it...
I'm a Tragic er Magic Fan !!! Went to their first game, went to their first playoff game, and pulling for them... I despise the Media, so hoping for a Nuggets/Magic final so that we don't have to be subjected to the constant slobbering all over LeBron (watch me score 40+ points and lose) and Kobe - excellent players, but last night's 3 point miss proves he isn't superhuman after all.... go Magic !
I'm a Heat fan (next year they will be a hot team) but all my friends are Magic fans. Easy drive to O-Town from Gainesville. I went to game 4 of the first and second round. If (more like when) they advance to the Finals vs I hope Kobe, we're hoping to get tickets to a game. It's fun having 10+ people a night watching the games at a house all crowded around a t.v. Go Magic!

As a Clevelander that just bent over again (city of sports losers) my sincere congrats to Orlando. Flat out you guys were the better team. Our season ended up to be nothing but fools gold, you can put LeBron with any scrubbs and can rack up wins, but its the playoffs that separate the real teams from the pretenders. Orlando Magic are one helluva team.
Amazing game tonight! I've been a devoted fan since I was a kid with season tickets! I definitely watched the game downtown, decked out in blue tonight. Go Magic!!!
Argh... I hate the Magic, well maybe not the Magic, but the so called Magic fans... And that is the problem with Orlando, the so called fans don't deserve a team this good. I have run into so many so called 'life long Magic fans' in the last few weeks that don't understand that being a life long fan means you don't take 10 year hiatus's from being a fan when your team's suck. I was at the mall and there where so many people buying magic shirts, WTF. If you are a life long fan then you don't need to buy a shirt yesterday, cause you already own one, or thirty. Maybe it is because I am from Chicago that I have a different view on what a sport's fan is. You don't play dress up and pretend to care, then turn your back on the team when they stink. Orlando, as a whole, didn't care about the Magic for the last 10 years, but now everybody is a devote, Blue and Black fan. The same exact thing happened when Tampa Bay won the Super Bowl. I have never seen so many life long Bucs fans, dressed up and praising Gruden, as I did for two weeks after and two months after they won. At every party there was some idiot and his girlfriend, decked out in Bucs stuff, claiming their undying allegence to the team, although they couldn't name a 1/10th of the players on the team. At least the jersey's look kinda cool, though. Of course all those die had Bucs fans are no where to be found. It is for the same reason that I kind of hope that my Cub's never really win the World Series. I might go postal if I go out and I see more then 3 people with Cubs appearal on, now claiming to be fans. I wil probably be in the news.... Rant off, I feel much better.
Yes, I was wrong!! Congratulations to the Magic fans and players, you earned it. Not sure wtf happened to the Cavs. But, their record breaking regular season and two play-off sweeps was some of the best basketball I witnessed!!! I hope Orlando wins, or better yet sweeps, the series against L.A.Lakers, at least it would give Cleveland's loss some meaning.
I've been a Magic fan since I was a kid. How could you not love Shaq and Penny! Don't forgot the Lil Penny commercials. I graduated with Tracy McGrady's brother (technically half brother). That kid (Chance McGrady) couldn't play to save his life. He was on our varsity team in high school of course and other than jumping high, he wasn't any good. Some guy in the stands yelled at Tracy that his brother sucked. It was pretty cool seeing all the cars Tracy drove to school to pick up his bro. He had his silver Murcie at our high school graduation. With that said, I've been watching them play as long as I can remember, but I don't own much Magic apparel so I could be "one of those people" you see at events like that buying clothes. I've never been one to own sports clothing other than stuff given to me as gifts. The only Magic stuff I own is a blue Penny Hardaway "authentic" jersey, pinstriped one. And a real Penny Hardaway jersey (black) autographed. It's a massive jersey and I need to get around to having it framed. I've been wanting to buy a game issued white Shaq jersey (Magic, not the other teams), but I don't feel like blowing $800+ on it. P.S. Even when the Gators basketball team was winning a basketball championship in spring '06, I was following the Magic much more closely even though they had 30 wins that season and were out of the playoffs. edit: I used to have a blue Dennis Scott jersey in elementary school, but it was the cheap screened on logo ones and wore out quickly in the washing machine. Pippen Jersey as well!
Congrats to the Magic. I was booked in Orlando last nite for a gig and everyone was fired up afterward (I went on at 1 am, so we had a lot of Magic run-off). RMX
To Orlando and their fans! They showed what they were made of, and so did Lebron, no class poor sportsmanship James. He showed what kind of a loser he is, got allot of growing up to do. But that kind of class, wont win many championships or fans, I lost all respect for him. But for now the Orlando fans can be proud, of course until they get whipped by the Lakers!
Painful, I know.... but hey, Cleveland was one "Lebron miracle shot" away from a 4 game sweep.... Let's see if the Magic can take down Kobe and the left coasters....
As good as Orlando is/was it wont happen! Cleveland is a good team and Orlando was able to put them away almost in 4! But remember Cleveland is not the Lakers. If the Lakers stay focus, they will take Orlando in 5 if not they will take them in 7. And yes am in LA a Laker fan!
