I owned a Pantera for a short time and just sort of unloaded it since restoring it was over MY head, but in the short time I had it I got to drive it a bit and it is one of those cars that when you are in it driving, you just feel so jacked UP! Something about the view down the front lid, the sound, etc...very COOL! There are some sweet Pantera cars for sale right now!!! The brown one on eBay is the sibling to my 'goose', same builders, original owner, etc. guy was a scandinavian furniture manufacturer, so for example the hides to finish the interior are beautiful 'furniture' grade!! over the top awesome!!!! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&_trkparms=tab%3DWatching&item=200343488618&viewitem=&salenotsupported#ht_18298wt_1000

Does anybody know what the story is with this car? Seems to have been with this dealer for some time. www.pim.net/9172007GT5.html
for as inexpensively one can fix the cracked air-dam, why oh why would you put a car up for sale with this obvious distraction? What major malady lies below?
My understanding is that $69K would be the value of a no-excuses, needs-nothing car. If that were a good price someone in Europe would have already bought it and shipped it somewhere where it is road legal.
The description of the car is the reason: "This Pantera is registered in the State of California but does not comply with emissions standards. Therefore this Pantera is offered for off-road use or export only from the State of California."
but if that were a really great price someone would have bought it and shipped it somewhere where it is road legal
exactly the price is not bad still but to import to Italy (for example) you have to add 25% on the price for VAT and custom fees, then there is the shipping cost....so when the car will be here it will already cost you around 88k$ ...that is not bad for a GT5 here but not the deal of the year.....
If you have the means there are other wide body cars out there. I know of 5 premium condition cars for sale.... I can tell you about 3 of them gladly. The other 2 I am interested in myself. PM me if interested. All are stateside with the exception of 1 german car. All are GT5s.
not at the moment ... i am currently registering a diablo here when done i will think about De Tomaso cars!
hi Steve it is a 97 VT roadster scuro blue, LHD ...sorry for the OT, De Tomaso fans Image Unavailable, Please Login
Fantastic Emilio, I love the Diablo, and to be honest I have been considering buying one for quite a while now, in fact I did attempt to buy one last year but the deal fell through. I am torn between the advice of a couple of owners who are positive, and that of some friends who are in the motoring trade and are very negative, saying the Diablo will be the most frustrating car I will ever own if i buy one, because of unreliability and repair costs. My preference is for a late open headlamp model SV or A VT6.0L. I am very interested in hearing your thoughts.
well....i own it since too little time and i had not driven it enough to give you a complete review ... i would not call a diablo a cheap car to mantain, but imo it is in the average of exotic's reliability (as long as you get a good engine-gearbox-clutch it could cost you less than your BB ferrari to mantain!) it is a good car with a to die for look and big powerfull V12 engine....sometimes they have issues as all italian exotics, but again they are not so bad as some would make you think (i found old lambos less problematic than XJ6 jag for example ) when you will buy a properly driven and maintaned one (i would suggest to stay away from early 2wd cars....) it won't be a frustrating car ...yes, there can be some issues sooner or later (and often small electronic issues) but at the hearth they are pretty strong cars as long as well taken care for 6.0 or 99 SV are both good diablos: GO FOR IT!
I saw the link and wanted to post my machine... dyno at 400 RWHP without the bottle. Image Unavailable, Please Login

I owned a 74 Red Pantera for 7 years and loved the experience. The Pantera has a big side blind spot but you just had to blast past, see them in rear view and get over. Most enjoyable aspect: 20 mph to 100 mph was addictive! If you are shopping inspect for rust & A/C does not work very well in hot climates. . Shifting is slow but it is a fun car with terrific looks. Buy the best example you can afford. As a current Ferrari 360 owner do not be a snob & limit your choices! Another option is the NSX as it is probably the best exotic buy on the market as I drive one daily. Good luck & post pictures on your purchase.
i think the pantera is an awesome machine for both look, performance, unlimited performance mods, service costs etc... i was shopping for one 1 year ago but for a reason or an other it looks like i have no luck with them .... i never drove one but in person they look superb (exp. GTS, GT5 and GT5S) i agree, if you can, get one! p.s. i know the NSX is a great sport car, but imo the pantera is a classic legend now ....an other level
