High mileage 360's

At just over 48,000 miles on my 99 Modena, I am beginning to think I have one of the highest mileage cars out there.

How about it, can anyone beat this number? Are there any other "high mileage" 360's?

 

You are not even close.

I have one client with 130,000 and 2 more with considerably more than you. That from the customer base of just one little independant shop.

real question is: will anyone buy these cars with hi miles

 

who cares? cars aren't much of a investment and are meant to be driven.

 

Hey Brian, what would you estimate he's spent on maintenance? I have heard a buck a mile but dont know if that includes fuel and fluids. In this guys case I am wondering about real service and parts costs, off the top of your head.

 

Its been very reliable. It is near the beginning of it's 3rd clutch on an F1 car. The most expensive repair he had was when the trans heat exchanger leaked and filled the cooling system with gear oil and the cooling system with coolant. He is way way below $1 per mile but that is very normal for daily drivers. Those of us that just drive occasionally the cost per mile goes way up.

 

You wouldn't buy a 360 with 100,000 miles for lets say $25,000? I sure would...

 

I have 52788 on my 2003 360 spider.
Full service records and runs better than any F car Ive ever owned. High mileage cars will give you more worry free driving than garage queens. Ive had both and would go with higher mileage any day :

Ferrari motors almost never wear out. People break them.

 

Heard that piece is a timebomb waiting to happen.

120k on the F car WOW. even my DD scion xb have less than that. that's the way you enjoy your car

I have 48.5k on my '01 Spider. Purchased 2.5 years ago with 16k.

So far, I'm averaging right at $1/mile (including tires) for all upkeep using an independent shop.

Great car...will be at 55k by year end.

 

34K with no issues.

Anyone who puts 130,000 miles on a 360 will never sell the car. In fact, if that person were affected by financial hardship, I bet the 360 would be one of the last things to go.

 

Nah, that's just a properly driven toy. I've seen 95k on the 355 coupe. Had its early issues (headers, etc.) but after getting sorted a couple clutches kept it rolling. CAR magazine had a guy who drove his 360 well past 100k as his daily driver - He wanted to get his money's worth! These are solid machines that only require maintenance.

I'm amazed folks don't drive theirs more. Spending upwards of $250k on something only to drive it 5000 miles has always been a head-scratcher to me.

How are the holding up in the quality department? Given that the car is well taken care of.

 

Has anyone done their own belts? Is it doable or worth it to just give it to a shop to do? And do the belts really give out in 3 years if the car has been a city car and never tracked.

 

The quality is excellent as you say if well maintained. Heres my int. with just under 53k on the clock...
