No problem. In fact I love watching MotoGP because there are so many riders whom I root for (Rossi, Stoner, Melandri, Dovizioso, Haydn, Toseland). As long as there's a great battle with many position changes it's allright with me.

You'd lose money on that bet. Louis was 6'1", 205 #s, some of the current fighters are over 6'7", 240 - 270, and one of the champions is 7'. No way Louis wins with any of them. We've gotten a lot bigger over the years. They are also faster. A lot of that is due to the advanced training techniques that we're using that increases their physical abilities. An example, swimmers in my day were 6', and the record in the 50 was in the high 24s. Now they are 6'6" and taller, and the record is in the 22s. Point is made.

Well, Rossi rolled the dice and paid the price. Too bad.......he was looking good until he got onto dries the 1st time. Hats off to Lorenzo - rode a great race and now leads the Championship. Pedrosa was on a mission to get past Divisioso towards the end - pretty aggressive riding by Dani.

Mugelo was the best race of the season. Ducati, Yamaha, Yamaha. Watch the race and you'll see what I mean.

What's the deal w/ Nicky Hayden? 15th in points, teammate is leading the championship....that's not good.

Rossi was doing quite nicely on the wets................too bad it dried up. I was rooting for Capirossi.....he looked like he was going to finish on the podium. Melandri was looking pretty good as well. Congrats to Stoner, he rode a great race.

I hope Pedrosa is okay.....he didn't look too good after that spill.

Who the heck knows. I was so hoping the Duc ride would have rejuvenated him, now it is looking like it might end up having the exact opposite effect.

Vermuelen and Capirossi could stay near the front in the wet, when you would think the horsepower advantage of the other bikes was negated. But when it got to be a little drier the others simply drove past them on the main straight. They showed a top speed statistic near the end of the race, Capirossi was down almost 10 mph to Dovizioso.

One of the most exciting races I've seen so far! In the end it were the same top riders on the podium but it could have been anybody's race.

It's the bike. The electronics are different than any of the other bikes. The deal is, stuff it into the corner, roll onto the gas, and hold on. Sometimes the bike pitches you off though. When you fall down, and you've caused the problem, it's easy to understand, but when the bike pitches you off, and you don't know why, you start to lose faith, and then you end up at the back of the pack, like Melandri and Hayden (that was told to me by a motogp rider, who shall remain unnamed, but I believe it to be accurate). Bottom line: Ducati is a career killer until they get the electronics right.

I tend to believe the electronics argument. Stoner has recently said that he is running less TC than he used to like and now has to compensate. I would have to believe that Hayden could try to do the same. He probably has tried removing the aids, but then maybe the tires and fuel consumption would become an issue, only those in Bologna know.

Last year Guintoli had a malfuntion with his TC and had to turn it off during a wet race, I can't recall which one. His lap times actually improved without the TC. Very strange.

One thing I can't stand about the rules of MotoGP are the fuel restrictions. The teams cannot allow their bike full power for the entire race. Give them another 2L, and you might see the order completely shaken up, as those who have a fast but thirsty bike or riding style can go all-out. I would be surprised if any of the manufacturers like the current limit.

The Ducatis get the best mileage. Something to do with the desmo system, I've been told. As for running without electronics, I'm told (and I did get to try one at Vegas a few years back, awesome ride, but without the traction control, and wheelie control, I couldn't ride it) that the 990s weren't ridable without the electronics. McCoy tried it at Valencia one year, and didn't get a full lap in, once he'd warmed the tires, and I'm told he's one of the best when it comes to sliding the bike.

As for Stoner: you can see how he's become somewhat tentative in his riding. Getting pitched off, and you don't understand why can do that.

WOW! I think I'm permanently switching to MotoGP from F1 now. INCREDIBLE battle between teammates. No team orders like in F1. :)

Theoretically the desmo valvetrain would have the lowest friction of the current engines. That system only loads the cam/rocker interface dynamically when the valve is being opened or closed. Otherwise it is more or less zero load unlike what a spring would be.

A spring system (either gas or coil) has additional friction because it loads the cam/rocker interface the entire cycle with some amount of preloading even when the valve is closed.

Rossi is great, but the competition is nowhere near as great as some of the racers Ago battled, like Hailwood.

Don´t get carried away. MotoGP has her fair share of boring races.
