599 HGTE Experience

Hi you fellow F-Chatters out there; i am traveling trough Bellissimo Italia for 2 weeks and did a private factory tour last week including intensive test-drive of the 599 HGTE. I drove the Abetone, which has many tiny turns, and must say, that the difference to the regular 599 is not enormous, but thats of course only MHO, and also i did not drive it on the track. I decided, to leave my 599 as it is. maybe, when i order a new one, i will opt for the HGTE package, but then i will definitely leave the interior as it is with the regular one, since i like it better. I will later post some pictures of my recent interior (i know some folks find it to much red... ), since i now had the oportunity to take some good pictures. Kind regards--e

BTW, on the production line (more "MANUFAKTUR" (really done by hand!)) i noticed a metallic purple 599--Paris Hilton, if you are on the board, please respond if that is your order ))))))

 

Barbie pink you mean mine or Paris Hiltons Fuchsia purple metallic 599 i saw on the production line ? BTW, production line....... more or less 20 cars are assembled in 5 days, app. 20 engines per day, 10 are for maserati, i did not really feel like in a big company with automated production, but in a clean and wonderful tiny shoemakers shop; the cars (430, 599) were on the line, next to the car is a trolley with the leather/carbon inserts for the specific car, that is put together slowly in the process---reminded me of these Revell plastic models i use to build when i was a kid. So, thank you for sharing my taste of colour Ferrarista 3. Now, HGTE-Interior: Seats are the same like standard production, but leather on the outer part is a bit stronger, which is good, since the regular leather is beautifull and soft, but the wear shows up soon, if you enter and exit the car more frequently. The inner part of the seat is amde out of alcantara, as is parts of the steering. Front of the center console, where the reverse and L.C. buttons are located is made out of carbon fiber. The computerprogramming was slightly different, i think to remember, that the gauges didnt allways show temperatures, more often just greeen lights. Since my main interest was suspension and motor-characteristics and transmission-times (duration of gear shift) i did not pay to much attention to the other details.
