Really, the first Ferrari for I'd imagine anybody just buying would be a 360 now or a 355. 360 prices are just falling more and more every year.

I was looking at a grey 360 at Lotus of Greenwich (or whatever its called). An F1 with little chips and signs of use for under 75K. It's all relative I would imagine. Supply vs. demand. There are a huge number of 360s on the market and clearly people don't want them as much as the 430 which seems to be doing okay holding its value.

The 355's have been under 80 for a while now, and the 360's have been trickling down with the economy. I have been looking for a while now and if I could find a 360 in my color and certain option (six speed) modena I would pull the trigger. Unfortunately all the ones I have found don't have the pedigree to go along with the price. That is ok though, I am not going anywhere and the economy will not get better in the next year.

 

25K? 35K? no wayyyyyyy. probably more like $10k or $15k.....

Even 308QV(s) with reasonable miles are still getting $25K to low $30K.

At $25K a new concept will evolve for the 360(s). Disposeable exotic - Why would one invest $6-10K+ (Major, clutch, brakes, tires, ...) in a high mileage 360 if they can sell it as < $10K parts car and start over again with a sub 30K mile car at $25K.

You can't even buy a low optioned new Toyota Yaris for < $15K out the door (I know I'm trying to replace some office cars) in this economy.

 

You guys are boring. If you are truly passionate about the marque then buy it. If you carry on with useless discussions about price and value, then you can't afford it. Stop wasting our time and buy a GM! Please talk about something else, the topic is OLD!!!

I think it is a fair question. Most people who buy these cars are not idiots, that is why they come here, in order to get educated. Why would someone just go out and buy a 360 for 120k, when they could have done their homework, researched, asked questions, and bought one for 95k. Dude, thats a no brainer. Don't get me wrong, I could have bought one a year ago and paid cash for it. I was not ready or educated enough to make a purchase. I did not do that when starting my business and I am not going to do it when buying one of these cars. There is a very small group of owners here that hate this topic, my reasoning is that they are upset that they bought higher than the current market is giving or I could be wrong. Just my .02.

 

Or your way too new Alex. These kind of cars need to be used wisely. Unlike your GM, a Ferrari buyer doesn't want a story car. You don't want to pour eighty thousand dollars onto a car you want to have for some time that has had the piss driven out of it with a huge amount of millage on its engine. Over reving and a burnt clutch, worn leather and balding tires... these are all things to consider.

It wasn't a question. It was a statement that 360's go to $25k by the end of the year. Which is really dumb. The assumption that a Ferrari is worth the same as the engine is even dumber. Engines are always more plentiful than cars, particularly in Ferraris as numerous (and frequently crashed) as the 360, and the most expensive things about Ferrari ownership are parts. Have you ever tried replacing a windscreen??? That is $5k alone! So a 360 in any condition is worth a lot of money in spares.

I don't mind people asking where the prices are going to, BTW. If I did, I wouldn't drive a 550...

I think the poster was refering to 360 engine prices being at about that much, not the car itself... I may have misunderstood though...

 

Yes the crack pipe is working at your house, Just kidding but that is way to low. They will bottom out I think around $50-70k for a coupe and $70-$100k for spiders as a rule

 

I'm not new. Just fed up of the topic. I understand the research involved before purchasing one of these cars, i've gone thru it myself. I know where you're coming from. I always thought this marque was one of prestige and of excellence, but for some reason a large part of this forum is devoted to the hope for devaluation for the ease of affordability. I paid over 200k for my car(back when they were with that), and yes it gets me upset at the rate that it is depreciating, but all cars do, and I can afford it. If someone is banking on the hope that a 360 hits 25K so that they can afford it, they'd better choose another make because 8k majors are unavoidable and 5k clutch changes are a reality. I just feel that all this talk about low-ball offers on these cars makes them sound trashy, not what I expected from a Ferrari. This is what happens when a prestigious creation is made available to those who cannot really afford it. BTW I don't own a GM, never have and never will.

IMO, if 360's can be bought for 25K by year's end, most of us will have far greater worries than the value of our Ferraris.

You're wrong. The 360 has more salvage parts. Rims, seats, tranny, much more. That makes the car worth $40,000. There is your bottom.
