    Very cool to see this car, Doug! Someone else has spotted a Mangusta in Atlanta (but can't remember who - and I think it was grey) but I love this car. I am not a fan of regular convertibles but love the look of a Targa - as in 1984 Porsche 911 Targa (not the new one) or the NSX Targa but I also enjoy total open air driving - this is why I love the Mangusta so much. The fact that you can do both is brillant! I wish more companies would use this in their design.

    Ahh, come on Jim! Maybe I just have a soft spot in my heart for strange looking cars but I love this car!

    I have to agree with Jim and Scaledetails. I think it's among the uglier cars around! However, I agree with you that the top idea is neat. You know, the convertible version of the current Mini allows this very same feature with its soft top. You can retract it a little bit for a "sunroof" or all the way for a full-on convertible top.

    Despite driving rain, my spots from tonight:
    - silver Aston-Martin DB7 Vantage Volante at Phipps Plaza valet.
    - black Audi R8 on wildlife (eagle) plates at Chops valet.
    - black Bentley Arnage on Florida plates at Chops valet.
    - silver Bentley Arnage on South Carolina plates at the Ritz-Carlton Buckhead.
    - white Bentley Arnage at the St. Regis.
    - awful photo of a black Bentley Continental GT Speed on Piedmont and Roswell. Actually, I took this photo from a booth during a meal at the Landmark Diner, to much amusement from my companion.

    As I had seen the black and white Arnages before, the silver Arnage marks the seventeenth new Arnage in a row that I've seen which did not have Georgia license plates. I've got quite a mix of states in there - Arizona, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Mississippi, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Tennessee, and now South Carolina - but you have to go all the way back to March 2008 to find the last time I saw a new Bentley Arnage with Georgia plates.

    Oddly, this trend tends to hold for the more valuable cars I see. For example, despite the fact that I've now seen five Ferrari 599 GTBs, I've never seen one with Georgia plates. And even after eight Maybach 62 sightings, I've still never seen one from Georgia. I guess the lesson here is that it pays not only to be rich, but to be super rich - then you can ship your cars natiowide in order to have them with you wherever you go!

    - grayish Aston-Martin DB9 Volante on Peachtree at Piedmont.
    - black Aston-Martin V8 Vantage on Peachtree at Piedmont.
    - black Ferrari F430 on temporary plates at the St. Regis valet.
    - orange Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder at Lenox Mall valet.
    - white Porsche 911 GT3 [997] on Piedmont at Peachtree.
    - gold Rolls-Royce Corniche V at Bone's on Piedmont.
    - black Rolls-Royce Phantom on Texas plates in a car wash on Piedmont, then later in valet at a condo building on Pharr Road.
    - brownish Rolls-Royce Silver Seraph on Florida 'Protect the Panther' plates. Odd story on this car: I saw it once in October 2006, then again in February 2007, then once in December of last year, and then yesterday - oddly averaging one sighting per year!

    Saturday June 6:
    - gray Aston-Martin DB9 at the Mansion valet.
    - dark gray Aston-Martin V8 Vantage at the Mansion valet.
    - white Bentley Arnage leaving Fado.
    - bad photo of a black Dodge Viper SRT-10 on Ohio plates turning from Lenox Road onto Peachtree.

    - black Ferrari 430 Scuderia in valet at Hal's.

    I've lurked on this thread for years, but finally feel compelled to post as I spotted the black/red Veyron on Peachtree Parkway yesterday afternoon (north of AAC). No pics of course :(
    We were traveling in opposite directions and my wife was driving or else I'd have turned around to follow him. First "Holy Sh!!!t" spot I've had in quite a while.

    Strange about the Gallardo being washed on Lenox. I live near the lot on Piedmont near Peachtree where these cars are rented from. Everytime I drive by, the guys are washing the cars. Why would you rent one and take it to a car wash? I don't get it. I also do not understand the customers who rent this stuff. I see the pictures here showing the car parked at Lenox Square valet. So you rent a Gallardo on Piedmont drive it around the corner to Lenox Square to show it off. Whatever.

    I agree with a lot of this, although a possibility that Andrew and I discussed was that perhaps the rental company has a contract with the car wash for free washes

    I just saw a very interesting Bentley GTC - usually people don't report when they are spotted because people would be writing everyday but I saw a Red with Red top. That was a very interesting color combo because usually the colors don't really match but Bentley did a great job on matching those colors and it looked great!

    its raining heavy here in buckhead but right now at hal's restauraunt is a black amg sl65 black series parked at the valet. This car is unbelievable. I will post my pictures a little bit later but if you have the chance to see this car please do so.

    Sorry for the last post. I had to use my IPhone on weak batteries to deliver the spot. I wanted ZonderF or Doug (Ddemuro) the chance to view this great Supercar. I have observed all major supercars in person and this one made my pulse jump. Normally I only post Ferrari's or Lamborghini's but this one is the exception. Almost 700 BHP, I hope the photos do it justice. West

    Tonight was one of those nights that I believe is how it will be for spotting cars this summer in Atlanta. The SL65 Black series was the star but we had some of our great regulars out even with rain in the air. Mark(MWhitesell)- I was the guy standing next to your car when you were getting ready to leave the Saint Regis. I came so close to finally talking with you. Although, I could see that you were in a hurry. One car missed tonight with no photo was the red Ferrari 512 TR with the Georgia tag "F1 Fan''. This flat 12 sounded fierce as it hit the ramp of I-400.

    I got home about an hour ago and saw your post and went up there to see if it was still there but no luck. Hopefully that car will stay around here so that we can all get a chance to see it. Nice spots from the rest of the night too!

    haha...the reason I said that about Doug's Arnage is because we see that thing several times a week and I'm pretty sure he's just using it to pad his stats for the month :)

    I am almost to the point where I am ready to retire the older Arnages though because they are pretty boring cars and they don't really do anything for me like some of the newer ones do.

    That's the less-powerful, less-fun, more rare Rolls-Royce version, the Silver Seraph.

    Very nice spots, especially the SL65 Black Series! Annoyingly, for the first time in ages I wasn't able to get up to Buckhead last night - I didn't know I'd be missing so much! Fortunately I made it during the day and still had a decent day, though a very British convertible-biased one:

    - black (or dark green) Aston-Martin DB7 Vantage Volante just off Highland Avenue in Virginia-Highland.
    - silver Aston-Martin DB7 Vantage Volante at Lenox Mall valet.
    - black Aston-Martin DB9 Volante on Florida plates on Piedmont at Lenox Road.
    - black (or dark green) Bentley Azure (the new model) on Piedmont near Lindbergh.
