    Because they were only made until 1970, hence rarer. Fixed headlights are lighter than pop-ups, plus it is how the designer intended the car to look. Pop-ups were a result of US regulations about headlamp height.

    Only because people don't maintain them.

    Most common fault is the motors siezing or overloading the electrics through lack of lubrication. There is a bronze bush on the end of the motor shaft, you have to dissmantle the whole motor to get grease into it, but do this every couple of years and they'll work perfectly forever.

    Second fault is the contacts breaking which control the stop and start of the motor, again this is a simple repair.

    these kinds of guides are relatively handy when talking about normal everyday cars, in fact i have often found when selling a car i cant even get the 'redbook' / 'glasses' etc price. i think its not particularly relevant for low volume cars, if it were i'd go out and buy lots of stuff if it were available at redbook prices :D

    Way cool..

    Pity they couldn't get the ports to stick out say the diffuser to be more subtle.. but then probably constrained by motherboard design.

    come on goober, you can't seriously believe they compile their data from actual sales. :rolleyes:

    lets look at the "data" on a 1997 F355 Berlinetta
    * Private Price Guide $106,900 - $119,900
    * Trade In Price Guide $95,600 - $108,600
    * Average Km 120,000 - 220,000

    That is an average of 175 000km
    How many F355's have you seen with 120 000 > 220 000km ?????????????????????

    None !

    So tell me, where did this ACTUAL DATA come from ???
    They aren't actual sale figures, they are mathematical calculations.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Another example:
    1998 993 Turbo S
    * Private Price Guide $138,300 - $154,300
    * Trade In Price Guide $124,300 - $140,300
    * Average Km 110,000 - 200,000

    [i follow these very closely]
    There are 15 in Aust
    The highest km recorded on one particular car is in the 80's
    Most are in the 20's
    A couple below 10

    ACTUAL SALE DATA ??? - No it isn't
    Private sale price from actual data ? - No it isn't.

    the km are clearly wrong for most prestige cars

    the km appears to be a calculation based on age.
    .....do they depreciate a % annually from new cost ? It appears so on some cars.

    Figures probably aren't incorrect per se, just based on samples too small to give accurate results and 'average' is a useless figure anyway, it should be a 'mean' figure quoted.
