Looks like WRC rally racing is back, NASCAR has been added as well as vehicle damage & new tracks. Unfortunately PD didn’t show any real gameplay footage. No release date was given but I expect sometime by fall or in time for the holidays (if we are that lucky).

They are cramming way too much into this game. People who want NASCAR will buy a NASCAR game. People who want rally will buy a rally game. People who want a racing sim will buy Forza.

There's no way it will be out in 2009.

**** nascar. Are they serious. If they've cut out other cars to fit in the nascar cars i'm gonna be pissed. If i want Nascar, i'll get a nascar game

EA lost the rights to NASCAR, so this is IMO a smart move for GT5, others will end up buying the game just for the NASCAR, but I agree, it's going to suck having to race NASCAR just to finish the game.

I think the NASCAR addition is awesome because the EA NASCAR games were crap.

I think the addition of rallying and NASCAR just make an already great game even better. If anything, it adds variety.

Agree I dont really see how the nascar game works into gt5 but we will see I have faith in polypohny. I've been waiting along time and my ps3 sits idle waiting for it's release.

Well, I found out about GTPlanet yesterday, so I was browsing the website, seems like GT/PD had sent out a little cryptic message back in April.

PLEASE NOTE: None of this information is accurate/amar212 (The OP) works for a magazine and they sign contracts to make it clear they won't release information about games untill a pre-arranged date as stated by another user

That was my first thought, too. I don't want to be required to play a Nascar game to get the completion. Luckily,(or hopefully) we don't have to play that part if we don't want. The part that got me most excited was the glimpse of the 'Ring at the end. :)

Something tells me that if you had to do the VW Beetle cup in GT4, you better warm up to Nascar.

I hate Nascar, but am actually excited to see it in the GT series. Just imagine wrestling one of the pigs around the Ring in the rain...

You know, for a while it seemed like GT5 feel off the face of the earth. I didn't think the prologue was THAT good, and now I see why- because this is going to be amazing.
I had the opportunity to drive a NASCAR on a track, I got to admit, I respect the people who drive those things a lot more now.

I'm sure it's funner driving them in real life than in video games, we like turns, so going left for 50 laps is no fun in a video game. You can't feel the G's and acceleration, and the fun crashes :D
