I learned to sail last summer on a lake in Texas and it really is awesome. If you're in to speed boats it might bore you, but it is exillerating in its own way. There is something about the power of the wind moving your boat and the mental challenge of positioning the sails to take advantage of it. Honestly, I left my blackberry in the car and it was the most relaxed I have been in 5 years. Then you can go further to perfect your technique much like racing any motorized vehicle. None of my friends seem to understand it. Sad sort of.
Yep!! First time I sailed I totally got it and whats sad is I have a close friend with two sailboats yet our busy work schedule is killing our dream sail.
Just picked mine up today. Nothing special, in the least, but it will be a blast to have something on the water this summer. Peter Hatch Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
This is a 88 Robalo. originally a cabin boat, but since cabin was rarely used (only once to overnite in the Gulf while fisshing 25 miles out), decided to remove cabion and put a floor, and seats, and it became a "bow rider", repaited it, etc. Great "tumy tuk" kinda surgery. Believe me...it is the same boat. Cheers. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
How does she run? What do you cruise at? Its a beautiful boat, was recently looking at the 2009 bow rider, they are amazing.
she cruises at 47mph. Thats at 5200 feet, so probably 55 at sea level from what I'm told. Thanks, its very comfortable, you could easily live on it for a week or so. Love the Slingshot, looks fantastic and no doubt a lot of fun!
I love this boat. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
My other boat is a 105' Azimut! Ha ha. Not really. My father sits on the Board of Directors for the company that owns this one so we have the luxury of using it. Best way to enjoy something like this. Don't have to foot the bill for it but get to use it! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Beautiful rig. If I knew how to post pictures......... I have a 30 foot Spectre with twin 300 Merc outboards. Runs 93-99 MPH, depending on the day. I've also owned Allisons and STV's. Small 20 foot rockets that run 100+ MPH. Mike
