That looks like Brian's (NSXER) LP400S.

It's a toy but not for kids ;)

it really depends on how it is underside but assuming the mecanic and interiors are good.....i would say probably well over 60k euro...and who knows what has been done to suspensions, chassis....

a friend of mine was going to by a similarly chopped black red LP400 (targa and S conversion) it was priced at 65k euro in 2006 but it was NOT this famous Markidian car and had a bad history

in my opinion the car is what it is now...too much has been done on it since it was an LP400 and the period conversion is part of its history

i do not think it should be put back to LP400 RHD (and as a side note neither i think it should be worth more than a preserved LP400)

I must say I am not a fan of the mods to that car but it sure would be fun to drive an open top Countach.

I agree, and personally I would not embark on such a project.

Its just that its current disposition begs the question, considering that it started life as an LP400, then was cut, then modified with the "S" components plus a LHD conversion - all non-factory.

I wonder why Rod Stewar didnt just send it back to the factory for a bespoke one-off.

    Interesting car.

Here is an unusual setup where the Countach is brought up from the underground garage via a lift, presumably for viewing pleasure!

    Joe,
this would have been a great idea and i think they would likely have been more than happy to make a one-off for him (to make some $ in an hard time and get some press with a rock star special car)

The funny thing is: everyone thinks the Countach is a big car as seen from a picture.

It must be the road presence.

I wonder where all the weight goes . . .

Is it possible for anyone to substantiate that a member of ABBA did in fact own this Countach? I have heard this suggestion before, but in all my research have never been able to conclude that the suggestion was based on fact. Anyone know more?

    Unique color.

I was going for a drive today and my kid had a fit when I was going without him. Needless to say I took him along. My wife took these in the garage as I was loading him in and backing out. He claps when I accelerate and loves the noise. A true gear head in the making. I can honestly say I never thought having kids would be this much fun. After the Countach we took the Jalpa out. No pics of that one. He is sitting on top of my desk playing with a model of mine as I type this making engine noises. Life is good.

    Thanks for sharing these!

My oldest boy is almost 17 now and I remember using one of our Countachs as a device to lull him to sleep come nap-time in the weekends. Sounds familiar?

That is HOT. A perfect match for the sparse modern furnishings.

The Rod Stewart car is fascinating. I'd want to leave it as-is (in terms of configuration) only because of its notable original owner.

    Great Shot Tony!

Here is a question you can probably answer.... the guy in the video has a 5000 QV Countach correct? I remember having the "Alpine Poster" (that they show in the video) on my wall when I was a kid at home back in 1978 or 1979, (and now its framed and hanging in my garage!) :). The QV didn't come out until 1985? Wouldn't that make the Alpine poster car an LP400S Countach? So, did that poor guy get lied to when he bought the car, or was his Quattrovalve in another poster?

    Mike
