Not fantastic for selling 30+ cars yeah. Guess it's the passion Maybe should get the franchise for the Ferrari gift shop. Which reminds me of that shop opp the factory that sounds off an F1 car racing by whenever someone walks in!
Well its better that ishop! Problem if the "other" dealer manages to somehow take over, it would mean the dilution or "cross breeding" of the brand IMHO. Look at it this way, they are not like HSM that has complimentary products like Maser or Spyker or even Riva. The other brands they have is plastic go carts that is too far apart in demographics and the other line is just mass production sedans....what a mess! Plus you add in a competing marque into the equation "roll eyes" and you can bet they will try to cross sell, upsell, downsell, lelong and there goes the Ferrari branding. Look at the number of V10s on the second hand market, just have this general feeling its like a mass market exotic marque, so many kenna repo and you get the drift...fingers crossed it goes to someone who has less balls to juggle and concentrate on furthering the marque's identity with passion before profits.
Well I dont have a thing against either company, a dealership that has multiple competing marques can only work in large countries like US, China, not Singapore which is too small. Just not enough buyers and you gonna confuse the hell out of this group of people...at the end of the day its just a conflict of interests a dealer with two competing marques is just going to end up pushing the more profitable one, especially in Singapore, this island is just way too small and cars way too expensive for most to indulge in both marques, save for a limited <10-15 people who can.
Boy boy, I'm not a statistician but I'm sure there are more than double/triple those digits of people here who have both marques & more @ home. The no of available used Gallardos in the market @ one time is simply due to the kind of clients that own them. IMHO, some of these owners live in the fastlanes. They are not the typical old money, elites etc. but commoners who worked hard/intelligent/lucky & got rich. Lambos to them are image, social standing & toys, nothing too personal & thus get tossed quickly when the interest wanes. It's a cycle & also the nos being sold new. ES sold so many within such a short time. Maybe they also did not do enough for 2nd/3rd owners etc. & generate interest for public to understand the brand & car better as Ferrari has a much longer & stronger branding. It was Sell, sell, sell! Where's the passion & interest in the brand & drive? (I think the factory's marketing strategy has also gone this way too & I feel it's time to consolidate during this lean times & look @ heritage+customer service) I'm probably the only Lambo owner left in this thread still beating for a bull run & thank goodness, I jumped into a V12 & never looked back! That said, i would vote for a different dealer rather than one house for all. Competition brings improvement.
