Maybe dumb cuestion... Why is the value of the miura so low compared to, for example gto? I think miuras are way better cars. IMHO

i am with, in Europe cars lost likely less than 30%
the weber countach hold up pretty well to

also interesting to note european sellers seems not to be aware of the market recorrection and are asking 10-20% more than 2008 (90% of cars not selling obviously ;) )

    Joe,
Congratulations on the success of the book.
There's a review in the leading dutch car magazine AUTOVISIE. I will take a picture of it and post it tomorrow (if not posted already).
So how many copies of the book are sold?

    Thanks Ben.

I will have to check with the publisher on numbers (I get the numbers in August) but I know that the first printing is sold so I think 3,000 or so.

    "DROOL
Even before opening this book, you are almost sure it's a masterpiece. Author Joe Sackey is THE specialist on the F40, countach and evidently the Miura. The latter is the first, and maybe still the most beautiful of its kind - the mid-engined supercar. Cast the ingredients in a press and voilá: also opened the "masterpiece status" holds up. It's unthinkable to be left with questions about the Miura after reading this book. Not a single detail is overlooked. You want to know how many Miura SV's are delivered to Venezuela? The colour of the Miura of the Shah of Iran? Probably not, but you can still find it in this book. For the real freaks, the S/N's accompanied by data are included. In short, the Title "Miura Bible"(ISBN 978 1 84584 196 6, www.veloce.co.uk) is not even exaggerated. www.asnbooks.nl"

In 1974, Joe Nastasi imported this car from a Rome-based doctor. Thereafter, it was stolen in New York, but lore has it that the perpetrators heard that the owner was Sicilian and returned it! This told me by the President of the oldest Lamborghini Club in the world who knows the circumstances somewhat better than I.

Today, Miura SV 5042 remains in good health... nice image by Sean Phillips.

Indeed. In life there are certain people whom its best not to mess with, or things start to work out badly thereafter.

At any rate, here is the Miura lined up with his other cars, after it had been returned of course!

The B&W pic is Joe inspecting the first Countach to reach the USA.

Then below that is him in one of his Alfa 33s. He is an accomplished vintage racer...

Miura SV won first in class award, Miura S won Outstanding Design award presented by Pasadena Art Center College of Design and third in class award.
Everyone was amazed by the crowds these two cars attracted around them.
A Hot Rod Miura S just sold for $340,000.00. Its celebrity owner whom I had the pleasure to meet at the show is on the hunt for the original parts, most unavailable and impossible to obtain. He will soon realize he would've been better off spending $450,000 to $500,000 for a complete original example.

Is Mr. Nastasi still involved with cars? Anyone know what his current role is? His name is
on my car so I was always curious.

Alex, just fabulous. Now you will have to buy another trophy cabinet!

Lets do a quick calculation: $340k + $60k parts + $150k restoration. I come up with $550k. Am I on the right track?
