He already conceded the 2008 season to win this one, what else could he do?

Yeah that was a part of their 5 year plan (or whatever it was.) This was THE year to be a championship contender. I guess the new reg's didn't get that memo.

They're just being proactive. By 'not conceding' the 2009 season, that gives them an excuse when they're uncompetitive in 2010.

A pair of retards calling the shots. So they concede 2008 after the Montreal GP, at the precise moment when Robert Kubica is leading the championship. Now in 2009, they are 59 points behind Jenson Button in the WDC, 88 points behind Brawn GP in the WCC and they AREN'T scrapping 2009! I don't know who is dumber, Super Mario, or you for applauding them.

That's a valid question, but they knew that it would be a pretty long shot with SF and Hamilton ahead of them. Again, they certainly didn't take their eyes off of the 2010 season. They may not have put as much effort as Honda did into new car development, but their stated goal was to concentrate on this season.

Any team except Brawn and Red Bull that hasn't conceded the 2009 season is run by morons.

There is no way in hell they could beat Brawn. No way.

I said it after three races: Ferrari should have abandoned this season and started working on their 2010 car. Any attempt to advance the 2009 car will at the most bring them some victories, but no championship. That ship has long sailed. Apparently even before the lights went out in Melbourne.

This WDC is over unless Button gets sidelined by a physical injury. In which case Rubens or Vettel will get the title. Nobody else.

More like no contact with reality rather than having "a pair" (unless you mean a pair of brain cells).

Seems more like PR spin to keep the sponsors happy.

LOL. That is too funny and true.

They may have a pair but they are about BB sized and made out of plaster. ;) Should be driving Hummers. :)

:) ... not saying he is good or anything but he is the next possible driver and the only other driver in a car possible of winning it so to exclude him is a bit harsh. Quicker than Barrichello and appears to be able to be consistent now in a good car.

I wish though he would attempt to qualify the same lesser amount of fuel that Vettel has instead of constantly going for the heavy car.

I would never SAY I was conceding a season, I don't think my sponsors would like that.

It was two short years ago Kimi did NOT concede the WDC, and he won it, after having no business whatsoever to come from 'that far behind' with two races to go to win it ?

For that matter, should a team like Force India concede the season after first practice of the first race ?
They know they won't win it, so they may as well concede, right ? Wrong.

Yes, agreed, he is the next in line for the throne. But it would have to happen over the dead or severly injured bodies of Button, Rubens and Vettel. Hopefully they will always fly on separate planes.
