How do I deal with this?

I normally don't post stuff like this online, but I'm at a dead-end at this point.


I have more or less lost my best friend, due to things that I have said and done. She came to my saying I just want 'you' back, and that she doesn't know what's happened to me. I've changed a lot in the past couple of months, and most of it not for the good. At this point most of my really close friends aren't talking to me. At this point I just want my best friend back. What should I do?

Why have you changed? and why hasen't it been good.

 

All my friends are saying that I just haven't been happy, and I've become self-centered.

 

Nope, she just says that I've become self-centered, and I'm not who I used to be.

 

+2 We're going to need more here. If everyone around you seems to be saying you've changed for the worst and you seem to agree, what's happened? And more importantly why don't you want to change whatever it is that's occurred?

 

It sounds to me like you need to sit down and have a discussion with all of them. Ask your best friend what exactly she's seen a change in from her side. Friends don't just tell you you've changed if they haven't haven't seen a change.

What events or things are you doing differently now that you weren't doing 1 year ago? In your eyes have you changed at all?

 

I do want to change what's occurred, but when I ask what I can do to change it, I'm told that I can't do anything to change it.

I've been trying a lot harder to impress people, and I take everything literally now. I have changed in my eyes.

 

Time heals all wounds.

Depending on what you have done and what you are willing to do to make it right its going to take time.

You need to do some soul searching and figure out WHY you changed and pissed off your friends. You need to apologize. You need to understand things wont go back to how they were overnight. If you push too hard you will only push them away.

 

Unless you said/did something fundamentally damaging to your relationships, these so called good friends and definitely your best friend should forgive and forget.....

That is if you truly exhibit a change back to form.

How so? To me you shouldn't be trying to impress people. People either like you or they don't.

 

You're talking in circles.

Get one of your friends to tell you exactly what has changed about your behavior, then post that on here. Or better yet, get one of your friends to post in the thread.

It sounds like you might be outgrowing these friends. Make sure your hanging around "winners" and the rest will take care of itself.

Austin Martin The best thing to do is just fess up and be honest with every one on a one on one basis. Don't be afraid to tell them you screwed up and value them and need their help to get your self back on track. If they are your best friend or a true friend they will understand and help you.

If you are suffering from depression go see a doctor now. Depression is nothing to mess with.

 

My suggestion: Be the one who always has something good to say. Be the one who always has a smile on his face. Be the one who really listens when other people talk.

There's nothing worse than radiating negativity.

 

Changing to impress someone never works. Be yourself.
