Hey Guys, I had problems with my turn signal again. Me like an idot I took it apart without knowing how to put it back. Does anyone have a blownup view of the turn signal indicator. It's wierd it doesn't seem to be making contact with the right turn indicator. I took it apart and cleanerd the contacts, but it's hard to tell how it goes back. If anyone know's I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance Jeff

Ouch. Wish I could help you. Are you saying that you opened up the switch? Does that involve drilling out rivits, or is it "snapped" together?

No rivits There's two screws. I took them off and the cover opened up and the stalk came out. I looked inside and the contacts were a little dirty. I cleaned then and now I'm not sure how to put the pieces back. I don't suppose there's a blown up veiw. It's hard to explain.

Well I fixed it today!! Not exactly good as new, but functional. I took everything apart cleaned the contacts and got it back together. the signals don't turn off when the wheel returns, but they turn on and off. They weren't working at all before. I guess it's still an improvement. Thought I'd let you know.

How about taking some pics of the procedure and posting a how-to thread? I'm sure it will come in handy for some one in the future.

I took mine apart on my '95 F355. I cleaned & brushed all the contacts. Still the right signal would work intermittently. I just ordered a new one from Ricambi($600) Frustrating is the only word I could come up with. The contacts were all making contact but no consistency.

Sorry guys I forgot. My fix was shade tree. What I did was take the stalk out, clean the contacts and put the shaft back. It really wasn't that simple though. When I took the stalk out the copper contact came off the stalk, and there was a piece that came out with it that I suspect allows the stalk to return when the wheel returns. I unfortunately wasn't able to put that back. What I also did was shim the contact piece out a little bit, so I makes a better contact. My main problem was that The right signal was intermittent as well . I suspect It wasn't making good contact. So that's my best description. Sorry if I couldn't be more help. At least it's working.

Wow only $6:00! I said that with tongue in cheek. I know that's a lot. But I think mine (348) is much more. $2,000 because it's a combo switch. You may want to try what I did. Which was to shim out the contact. I know you already ordered one but maybe if it works you will have a spare.

Clearly a case of low blinker fluid.
