F1 or Le Mans

I love to see ferrari back in le mans.F1 seems the playground of 2 old and strange guys, who change the rules like a lady change her dress.

 

Until the megalomaniac F1 ringmasters decide what kind of circus they want to run (and possibly even after), LeMans suits me just fine. It's more relatable, and I'd love to see the history of Ferrari in Endurance racing resume in its old glory. Both are technical triumphs, arguably close to equal.

Oh, and LMAO at the 4th choice.

 

well, after having watched the end of the 24hrs. this morning, it would seem ferrari has a very poor presence.
i was not impressed with the coverage naturally, but i was also not much interested in the 430's either.
what happened to the Fprotoypes?

if ferrari really wants to become a has-been maybe they should return to lemans in a big way.

 

I voted both. I mean F1 at least now is the top of the heap. But I wish the factory would get back into sports car racing. I mean look how good the private F430 GT teams are doing. I just hope they don't decide to get back into it, get things up and running, then back out. They have done that before even when things looked very promising like IMSA in the late 80's early 90's.

 

watching the 24 hours was more fun and exciting than any f1 grand prix this year..i'm still a f1 fan at heart, but my love for sports car racing is growing more and more..also heard rumors about Porsche coming back to le mans with a factory team..

I HATE Ferrari as an F1 team, but if they returned to LeMans as a full factory team, that would be awesome.

LMS/ALMS tends to be WAY better racing and less BS. So my vote is LeMans.

As Much as I am tired of the F1 Political Drama, I would like to see them stay. But If They do leave on account of the Bernie Max Politics, I am okay with that.

I would love to see them come back to LeMans Racing as a Factory Team as well. Both are the roots of the company in a large way and I would love it if they returned.

 

this years f1 crap has put me over the top....i dont watch anymore...i'll return to watching it when alonso is wearing red...hopefully next year...i dont like the passionless drivers ferrari currently employees....winning or lossing

 

I would like to see both but I doubt that even Ferrari could pull off a winning team in two different series.

So that is why I voted for enduro racing. I would like for Ferrari to join the Le Mans series and see what they come up with. It seems that if they were in the top grouping and racing in the series it would be easier for them to help out the 430/450 and maybe get the 599 out on the track like some did with the 550.

I am all for Ferrari going back to long distance racing!

 

If I understand your question, it is not what you want to see happen, it is which of these venues is more important at this time as far as exposure. It still is F1, LeMans is a single incredible event, also with rules issues. F1 is still more relevant.

 

Funny when you think about it though -- LeMans and F1 have about the same amount of actual racing time in a year -- F1 just spreads it out over a couple of months...

 

Not many people make that connection, thanks for pointing it out to everyone. Who says if Ferrari would entertain the idea of a factory sports car team that it would only run one race and not be a part of LMS participating on fantastic "real" circuits, not some quasi set-up on downtown streets. With a cap in F1, Ferrari could also have funds/personnel to enter into the sports car scene. Sports car racing is not as expensive as F1 and it would enable their employees to remain employed.

As far as a winning team in two series, I say again that two of the Ferrari FACTORY drivers won Le Mans this year in a privateer team which is the closest thing to a factory effort and one Ferrari FACTORY driver won in P1 also. I truly believe that the "privateer teams" competing with the 430's definitely need to be commended for their efforts because without them, Ferrari would be zilch.

The "privateer teams" are much more successful than the Ferrari F1 team.

I voted both, but If it came down to it I'd rather go to or watch LeMans than Monaco. I love that I can watch a race, go to work and follow it there online/phone/etc, then go home and keep watching it. The excitement of F1 always keeps me interested, albeit some of it has died down a little...or a lot...

 

I say F1 at the moment, although of course it may soon cease to exist as we know it.

Certainly for most of the '90s/00s, F1 has been more relevant since Le Mans axed Group C and put too many restrictions on their cars, I haven't really made much effort to keep up with it since Group C's demise. The '80s still belonged to F1 overall, but the Group C heyday was right there with it.

I definitely think 2005-2008 had some of the best drama/cliffhangers EVER in F1, good stuff! This year has been a bit of a drag with everything turned upside down and who knows what next year holds.......

 

I have the chance to see every race life of the LMES and was also in Le Mans as well as Sebring this year. I enjoy much more the Endurance Sports car than the F1, latelly I as I watch most of Formula 1 races I fell asleep as they are getting so boring. My vote is for endurance and would love to see Ferrari again in Sport car Racing.

 

We are attending all the LMS races also (except the tests) and they are far from boring. The support races are also great. CER is probably our favorite, but can't wait to see the ADAC races at the Nurburgring in August. You get so much more for your money!!! F1 get's you a GP2 and perhaps a Porsche Cup race, whereas there are 6 support series racing in conjunction with LMS at many of the races. If you go to www.ferrari.com and then to Ferrari.tv, Luca has a 7 minute talk about F1 and he also mentioned sportscar racing! Enjoy the races!!
