As Wolf tells me and as was reported in the press, he was actually involved in financing certain Formula teams from 1972 onwards at the behest of his friend Gian Paolo Dallara (who was responsible for the modifications of his Countachs), so in fact, all his Countach modifications are F1 inspired.

Interesting 1120130 is not mention in the registry and 1120288:

F1 inspired? Probably yes. He may have been involved in financing F1 teams before 1976 (I would be very thankful for informations about the teams he financed between 1972 and 1975!), but he did not play a key role in F1 before 1976.

Clearly F1 inspired, without doubt, as so stated by the man himself.

He was an F1 fan since 1972 as introduced to the sport by Dallara, so the point at which he played a "key role" in F1 is irrelevant to the fact that he always felt the basic essentials of F1 technology should be applied to the Countach: wings, fat tires, parallel-linked suspension and so forth.

Let's say racing technology instead of F1 technology.

If you've ever spoken to Wolf, you will find out that his passion is F1, over other forms of motor-sports. To this day, he follows it closely. The reason I assert that he was influenced by F1, is because that's what the man told me, and that's clear considering his record.

    So--only because I'm dim--

The significance of Wolf's Countach (red 1120148) was that it was modified in a manner that the LP400S eventually became?

At the time, the car (with his mods) must've been the most outrageous thing on wheels.

I dont mean to make out that Wolf's Countachs had any major significance, after all they were just toys to him, and he doesn't even bother to own one now, even though he still has some interesting cars.

But, his Countachs got the factory thinking clearly on what direction to take the LP400, so in a sense he was a catalyst that influenced the development of the Countach.

...and that in itself is very interesting. I only hope to be so wealthy/influential that something that awesome could mean so little to me. lol

    lol

One of the comments about the Miura Bible is that there should be a similar book about the LP400. I would RUN to buy that!!!

Not yet, the owner is quite a "busy" man avoiding meeting.
I knew him for a long time ago without knowing he owns that Countach too...
So, next time I hope he will talk a little bit more about it !
