    Hi fellow FChatters!

My family and I are probably going to Chicago on August 15-17. Are there any events (shows, meets, etc.) going on on those dates? Also, where are some places to "spot" exotic cars?

    Thanks in advance!

    You're in luck:

The Ferrari Owners Club and the Lambo Owners club will participate in an Italian Exotics Show in Naperville on August 15.

Stay tuned to this forum for more details to come out.

Gold Coast is a good area for spottings. Grab lunch at Tavern on Rush. It's not expensive and great food, plus during the summer there will be exotics and hot girls abound.

    Andreas,

Can you tell me where and what time the event is going to be held?

    Thanks!

Try Michigan Ave too but I think most of the cars are on Rush.

That is highly debatable: Air & Watershow is total chaos and mayhem if you try to watch it from the beach. Your family will hate you for it. This show is best watched from the comfort of a boat or a high rise, both require connections.

I love the air show (forget the water part), but there are better ways to do that:

Friday beginning at noon the real crowd pleasers of the jets will practice for a few hours over Chicago. That's the best time to catch them without crowds from the beach or a highrise deck like the Hancock.

And even if you want to do the air show and the car show, those are not really mutually exclusive as the air show is Saturday and Sunday.

Here the flyer for the show: For participants it begins at 10:30am, for the visitors at Noon in Naperville (Western Suburb):

Why would you assume my family wouldn't have fun at the car show? They love cars almost as much as I do. I didn't ask for "air & water show" suggestions. I asked for car show suggestions and where to spot exotic cars.

I think he means its probably more exciting to see things in action (like a plane show), then watch cars just sit there, if there was a rally or cruise after the carshow, that would be a different story....

Relax buddy, just trying to help. I agree with FerrariEnzoinChicago 100%, which is why I'll be watching the air show.

*If anyone is interested in watching the air show from the roof of my apartment building, send me a PM in August.
