Is that a Brabus G V12 in the background of the second picture!? or just a tricked out G55?

It's just a stock G55 with a couple of minor mods. It was fun to ride in. :D

It looks like you could AFFORD a Ferrari. What's going on in your head, and why are you here?

Main reason I joined here is because I am getting ready purchase a Ferrari and while googling "ferrari" I came across this site and figured I might as read observe for some good info.

Frankly, I have no clue about the Ferrari models, but ever since I was a kid I've wanted one.

Probably would be willing to drop around $150,000 on one, it would have to be a convertible, the famous red on the famous tan and fairly new.

The 360 Modena is around $100,000 these days, and you can probably get a 360 Spider for less than $150,000. That's Ferrari's mid-engined V8 model, ~~successor to the F355 and followed by the F430.

You can get a 6-speed manual or the F1 with the paddle shifters.

Not sure if you want to park that outside though. :)

Before you get the Ferrari, you may want to look at getting a garage.

Don't worry about getting a garage. Buy one and enjoy it.

After all, it's 'just a car' ;) It doesn't dissolve in rain

Actually, the main reason why I have been looking at Ferraris is because while I renovate my house I am planning on adding a two car garage, so the M5 would stay out side.

You can never have too much garage space. Add as much as you can. The BMW should stay in as well as the others. As far as a convertible for 150k, the obvious choices would be a NICE 360, maybe a 430 if you can find a bargain, or if you don't plan on driving with the top up, you could probably find a 550 barchetta for around that. Most likely to hold its value, very rare, reliable (from what I've read), and damn good-looking!

I, too, wanted a Ferrari (308 specifically) since I was 18, and finally bought one a year ago. Little things like buying houses, raising a family, etc. kept getting in the way. Good luck finding one that will make you happy!

    nice...

poor M5 though... when complete, you should take a picture of the Ferrari in the garage, looking out at the M5 getting wet in the rain... :D

Trust me I would rather that, but the land/space situation is what is preventing me.

I just looked at the 360s and the 550s on eBay.

I see that there are only a few 550s that are Barchettas like you said hence they will most likely hold there value compared to the 360s (as far as I can tell, there are a lot of 360 spiders).

In terms of styling, I like the 360 better, a lot more rounded and sexy.

Does the 550 have any type of top?

Now, I also say there was manual ones, and "F1s". The F1s are kind of like my M5's SMG right? I think I would prefer the 6-Speed as both my M5 and GT-R semi-autos.

Thanks for all your help so far.

Maybe I should start a thread concerning this, because I understand this is a thread for garage pics, sorry about getting off topic.

buy a lift so you can have 4 cars in a garage meant for 2, from what I have read they are fairly affordable and may be the perfect solution to your situation.

As far as a top, the Barchetta's top is basically for emergency use only. Not something you'd want to use on a regular basis. ALL of the 550's, as I understand it, were 6 speed sticks. When the 550 evolved into the 575 (convertible version "Super America"), the paddle shifters became available.

Yeah, car lifts for the garage! Just make the ceiling a little higher and you've got it made!--JK
