Hello, Wanted to know if anyone has fitted any streetable R-compound or near R-compound tires to their 430. I'd like a little more grip. I have no desire to put on aftermarket wheels to fit larger rubber. Rain performance is a non issue for me. The only R-compound tires I saw on tire rack in 430 sizes were the $500+ corsa system tires for the Scuderia. Anybody found anything else in stock sizes. Thanks, Patrick
I used the corsa system on my 07' F430 Spider, and saw a sustantial improvement versus stock. Ferrari uses them as OEM on the Scud and Stradale for good reason! Tim
Thanks for your response Tim, Did you notice a worse ride with the corsa's? I noticed in the Michelins on the Porsches that the pilot sport cups had better grip than the PS2's, but stiffer sidewalls with some loss of ride quality. I don't have any intention of tracking the car. I'd like some improvement in grip, but I don't want to make the car unpleasant to drive over the very imperfect roads of rural Oklahoma. I was hoping there might be some other options, but I think I'm just going to get the corsa's. Thanks, Patrick
Hey, Not sure on the sizes, but you may want to check out the Toyo R888's - I put 'em on my 360 and *all* the tire squeal went away. Cheers, Ian
The Corsa system is good for the street but not great for the track. I track my CS regularly and have been looking for a track tire but there isn't one. The R888 does not fit.
The ride comfort was similar to the original tires. The only negative was that the tire road noise was marginally louder (but, not bothersome). The traction and handling limits (after warming up) were dramatically improved. Tim
I have found the Michelins Cup Sports to be quicker in the dry and the Corsa better in the wet. The Michelins to go off a little quicker unfortunately.
I don't see the sport cups in stock 430 sizes. Are you using a different size on the stock 430 wheels? aftermarket wheels? Have you found them somewhere in stock sizes? Thanks, Patrick
Patrick- See if this helps. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Sizes.jsp?make=Michelin&model=Pilot+Sport+PS2 Taz Terry Phillips

You will be happy with Corsas
