Very nice, thanks for sharing... I have been trying to solve the 'problem' of lack of miles, and I have to report that I'm having limited success - not that Im complaining. One thing I have solved is the car's running status which I classified as 'rich', but after performing all the deferred maintenance, it barks into life and runs like the little red rocket it is. Thanks CZ. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Such a beautiful car, and amazing machine....with a sad 1,798 kilometers. That is barely over 1,000 miles in over 2 decades.
Thanks, these cars are indeed as you have described. But, I think the kms thus far have in fact been extremely happy kms, not sad ones, and I can personally attest to that! I didn't have much of a choice as to how many kms were covered in the first decade, but I also realize that not everyone wishes to do thousands & thousands of miles in their Ferrari for a multitude of reasons. BTW, If I may ask, how many miles would you like to see upon this particular 288 GTO, such as would make you happy?
No not this time, but I bet that be a certain other 288 GTO returning from Newport Hills 76, 2690 San Miguel Drive, Newport Beach CA 92660 (949) 644 7151. They have a pump there that is labeled "Racing Gasoline 100 Octane" that costs more and they claim makes Ferraris run better. I don't think it makes any difference! Image Unavailable, Please Login
I have a request for an acquaintance. He's looking for a fuse box/block (cutout box) - I don't know the english word, so hope you know what I'm looking for. He says that it's the same for the F40. I think it doesn't depend on whether it's for a GTO or F40. Here's the link to eurospares, which he sent me. http://eurospares.co.uk/searchResult.asp?M=&Mo=&A=&B=&S=61675100 Does anyone has an idea, where he can get that? Maybe an adress or contact adress would be very nice. He lives in Germany, but it's no problem if it's anywhere in the world. He contacts Ferrari England but they say, they don't have it as spare part listed. Hope you can help me, and if you have any ideas feel free to PN me, especially for the adresses.

Tom is that engine rebuild completed? If so we would love to see it at the Reunion! For those who are not familiar with 58337, it is a special car being one of the last GTO's built (with engine 279 and gearbox 274) and it received some competition upgrades by Michelotto in February 1986. It was therefore imported to the USA strictly as a race car, and that explains why all the miles are on the track. Still fitted with its EE.196.AK export plates it keeps pace with the best of them and is featured in this thread doing its thing on the track. Speaking of mileage on GTOs shill288's car must have 55,000 km on both road & track, the Texan car has about 85,000 km almost all on the road, and another far east car featured in this thread has in excess of 100,000 km. Ive seen at least a handful of cars with in excess of 40,000 km. Lets not forget the ex-Charles Church 55687 which showed 64,582 km as of last year as documented by stocky at Donnington.
