OK, but "zero driver involvement" sounds too strong when all the reviews I've read say it is a real Ferrari. It depends what you want. I think I'd still prefer something harder core. A mate of mine with a 360 received an invitation to the Cali launch - but it was addressed to his wife who drives a 4WD. So I guess they are a girl's car after all....
I'm sure if you drive it fast enough you can become pretty damn involved, but otherwise it's probably as involving as a mercedes. Depending on the person, that may or may not be a bad thing.
Just saw the California at the Ferrari dealer - it had just arrived for tonight's launch party. My Lambo was in the same truck from Melbourne. The Cali looked nice - and was registered too. Mind you, the mechanics were ignoring it and checking the Murci out instead.
No pics - no time. I saw the car at the Paris show last year and reckon it is better in the flesh than pics. I'm not sure if they are offering drives yet.
Hi Mark, I saw the Lambo outside the dealer this morning and figured you were checking out the California. I might go and have a look tonight.
its much better in the flesh than the pics. i just drove it briefly. very nice. Build quality a leap ahead of the F430. its definitely driveable and very comfortable. too soft for what i am looking for but its a gorgeous car in the flesh and would make a great cruiser.
cheers PAP the lasting impression was of a car that really looked the goods but wasnt as punchy as i thought it would be. Id be pretty confident saying that seat of the pants thrill is well below F430. if i had to cpmpare, it felt like it pulled like a R8, not an F430. you wont believe how much better it is in the flesh than the pics!
I saw a number of them in France. They have as much street presence as a Toyota MR2. No thanks! Already talked one mate out of buying one.
That was a perfect opportunity to post the photo of the MR2 and the 355....but do you think I can find it anywhere????
