Of course, the Bata (Buy-And-Throw-Away) attitude is very wrong!

for pocket, I am quite happy with Ricoh(but u already have one) and the p6000 mainly for it's geotagging purpose.Battery runs out fast but I travel with with ac/dc convertor in car.

I have not played with Canons in awhile, but I much prefer for personal fit and finish reasons, Nikons. I also have a small collection of lens from the past which neither Canon nor Nikon can replicate today. The pride and joy is a 8mm F.28.

I would suggest playing with them as much as possible before you decide. It isn't hard to buy both the bodies you are eyeing, get series of 50mm, 85mm and a wide angle prime. Then spend 2 weeks before you decide which is more suited for you. You wont really lose much if you decide quickly enough.

You are welcome to take my gear out to try. But I get dibs on the Scud ... :)

Leicas are cameras that makes no financial sense. You are a Lecia user or you are not. Simple as that. Thats why a Billingham for Leica is 250usd when similar sized bags are less than half.
The overall fit and finish, the quality and the senses in which the controls talk to you, is something one cannot describe. A Leica is for photographing that split second after hours of playing with your child, a flash of keeping the moment that mother nature has allowed you a sneek at. That moment, in a dark corner of the bar, amongst fine whiskey and friends, that moment where the flash just stops everything. A Leica with a Notilux will snap and keep that moment, without anyone paying extra notice. It is a camera that blends into the corners, and emerges out without a rude awakening. It portraits time, friendship and memories. With or without the notice of the subject. It will take the purest moment of emotions and passion.

I lived in Malaysia when our good old PM called Dr Mahathir recalcitrant which from memory was around 1994. Election time, Thank God I'm a Kiwi and held an NZ passport. :D

I lived in a resort in Air Keroh, Malacca. There were always a heap of Singaporeans who made the trek up north for a game of golf. ;) I'm sure you've enjoyed that drive a few times. Mind you I suspect the days of handing over 50 ringit and your licence for speeding are over. I've got some good stories but not for public discussion. :)

One of the best times of my life. Worked in Muar. Used to take the back roads to work. I loved my time working and living in asia.

Just spoke to my wife tonight and said we should really head back to Singapore or HK for a holiday.

    edit. No temperature. :D
