+1 ............ no one knows everything and it is great to see data from many and even new sources IMO.

I still put fwd, the Title area for certain stickies, that should be for each model.

    456 GT : [ Brakes | Seats | windows | engine : [mounts | cooling | etc. ] ]

sort of like [Model] [Area ] etc.

what is extreemly difficult is the tons of searches where it is most difficult to get info. Having some standardized titles for certain 'things' where threads can be
    - added too
    - merged with
    - or linked to others [oil 'stuff']

would be truly better. searches can give the top-down approach to tree searches.

    imo

Alright I have one dealing with pictures. Something like this might already be in place but here goes. I wish there was a way to access our already uploaded pictures and then be able to post them elsewhere without having to re upload. I took some pictures of various cars and uploaded them to a thread in the Mid-Atlantic section, I have some good ones of 328s and would like to post them in the 328 Thread in Showroom but without having to go through and completely re upload the same picture.

Another thing with pictures is being able to upload from another URL, it would be helpful for me if I could just upload everything to Flickr and then just drop the URL to the attachments window.

Yeah, that would be awesome, if we could use the img code, and don´t have the need to upload an attachment

Seriously, if there were a way to submit a regular .bmp image for attachment, and the site were able to transform it into a .jpg for display, that would be great.

I keep letting my snagit run out of license, and most of the stuff that I would like to submit seem to always be .bmp.

The ability to see which threads I have not read would be great. Now it seems that all threads are considered read each time you vist.
    Keep up the good work.

there is that technology available with the software, I've talked to others about it, either not turned on or just works for some users. I can investigate.

Anyone can pretty much post unlimited images, I guess. It does make the process of posting pictures a bit shorter/faster.

in long run I think negatives far far outweighs those benefits although I do agree with them.

It costs folks on the other end the bandwidth. But, it might give Rob copyright headaches that he does not want.

90% of reason behind no IMG tags is we want to archive all pictures posted forever, my experience is IMG tags go bad and you get the ugly Red X within weeks on some, within year on most, and 20 years from now how many of those links do you think will still be valid.

Have P&R as well as B&I read only for non-subscribers. Let us know what we are missing.

I can prob work on that, it won't work for all users and their cookie settings, but that is some custom code I did and maybe need to update.

P&R is a very heated and controversial section, it is better for a smaller audience and don't want it on public view. Interesting idea about making B&I read only, but I think users are more comfortable posting there without public view. There are also many things that are "value adding" there that should be reserved for subscribers. Silver is only 4 cents a day.

Making P&R and to a lesser extent B&I read only to every one would diminish or completely negate my posting there.

(Which might be a good thing? :p )

But what if you did it like porn sites do? Make B&I and silver (but not P&R) viewable and post'able for say 5 days for $5? May help some people decide to fully subscribe for the bargain price of $15!

    1. SEARCH FUNCTION. I find that if you list the post in way that describes the body of the post, (if your doing a title search only) , will probably help alot.
For example for title posts: "Fuel Distributor" (and the body descibe the question) NOT "whats that smell?" (and the body descibe the question). Who is going think of searching "smell" and then getting abunch of nonsense, vs something very specific.

So many times I search for things and may find it under a title that doesnt even describe the body of the thread.

    Very fustrating.

    2. (maybe this is possible) Being able to save a informative/favorite thread.

    Thank you Rob.

    Sincerely, John.
